| On the official website it says 'England and Wales 2013'
So naturally Perpignan, Avignon and Limerick are chosen. Quite disappointed that South Yorkshire has absolutely nothing.

Well it's on Skysports website too.
Limerick is an odd one. Thormand Park is pretty big, isn't it.
Semi/final venues announced in new year. Maybe a semi double header at wembley?
Don't worry, Elland Road has already been ruled out.

They'll probably save them until 2013. Towards the end of the competition is my guess.

| I'm guessing opener at Wembley, double header semis at Cardiff and final at Old Trafford.
Gutted Bramall Lane won't get a game. Cracking ground and put a good bid in by all accounts. Council in Sheffield would of made, whatever game it was, a must see game.
Also bit disappointed 3 of the quarter Finals are in the North West with the other at Leeds. Would of spread them a little perhaps Doncaster, the Stoop, Wigan and Hull FC.
I'm all for expansion (glad Bristol & Neath got games) but it's sad with it being England & the Wales world cup, South Yorkshire didn't get a look it, especially as Ireland and France got games.

| Personally I'm very disappointed that there won't be a game in South Yorkshire - Sheffield City Council, Sheffield Eagles and Sheffield United lobbied hard to get a game. They'd have done a great job, too.
Those criticising the inclusion of Bristol are wide of the mark, though. The city's location - i.e close to Wales - makes it ideal to host a game from the group containing Wales. Plus, there has been loads of development work down here of late - schools coaching, new junior clubs, RLC success and the like. I wouldn't expect an enormous crowd, but there's potential for a decent crowd (anything around 5,000 for a match containing two small teams would be excellent). Ashton Gate was included in Bristol's bid but was seen as too big, so the Memorial Ground it is.
Just off to the Bristol host city launch event at the MEM - can't wait for 2013!

The KC has a group game, and will also get a S/F, otherwise we'd have been given a QF.
I find it hilarious some Bradford fans think Odslum should have been given a game.
Not sure why Doncaster has been overlooked, ideal ground for one of the quarter finals if not a semi??? (unless it ends up as one of the S/F venues)
no way should we be going anywhere near Wembley with the final.

Cant believe that venue 2 junctions down the motorway hasn't been chosen as a quarter final... and Warrington has.

| You could never please everyone with this announcement. The venues that got the games must have put in the strongst bids. What I am baffled but is how an England & Wales world cup includes France & Ireland, I'm sure the French will turn out in force like they did just for a friendly but I didn't think they were part of the bid

| I too am a bit baffled why the Enland and Wales World Cup 2013 has given France and Ireland venue's. I like the idea of expanding the sport and getting more people involved but why not call it the European World Cup!?!
I am really pleased HKR have a game coming to Craven Park with a new stand and the covering of the temp seating plus an extended East stand HOWEVER it is a shame South Yorkshire hasn't got a game yet Hull has two. Both the KC and Craven Park will get good crowds and I can't see Craven Park getting anything more than a south sea islands game.
As said the best applications got the games so we have to respect that. Just hope it is the right thing for the game, at the moment I don't see it but the proof will be in the pudding!!!

It's called the rugby league world cup, not England and Wales world cup.
It obvious to take games to France where they would get 17,000 rather than 2,500 in, say, Rochdale. Come on!
Limerick on the other hand is strange but only ont the size of the venue.

| So why not play games in Australia and NZ so to get 50-80k instead of 20-30k??
The World Cup was given to England and Wales not France and Ireland.

I in turn find it depressing that for an international comp that should bring all fans together, there are blinkered, parochial tosspots like you around who instead just see it as an opportunity to take childish cheap shots at fans of other clubs.
I remember paying to watch the Aussies put a century on Russia at the crumbling greyhound track formerly known as the Boulevard, which now it has gone I can say made "Odslum" (ho, ho ho) seem in comparison like the Ritz. Yet, in many ways like "Odslum", it had a soul, steeped in history, which made it one of my favourite grounds to go to, and the fanatical support helped create the aura. Some great days and nights there, some great fans, and thankfully very few utter assholes.
