Honestly i dont see there been anything to regret. This was our best chance of ever returning to SL, its not like any team in SL will be in a worse position in 3 years time is it? Add to that they will probably be wanting to try the Crusaders experiment once again and the dream really is over for Championship clubs as there is no chance of the league been expanded and no doubt criteria for entry will be set at a higher level than it is this time which will simply be unreachable for any team outside the top flight which isnt an expansion club.

Off to watch my team die a slow death.

And best of all , they weaken the Championship while they are doing it as well , at least we had a like for like swap with Widnes , Wakey

Ill say again, this should not be about Wakey or Fax, this process is fundamentally flawed and an insult to Sport.
Ralph Rimmer, Richard Lewis and Nigel Wood do not possess the qualifications or inteligence to govern our Sport.
The sooner they sod off the better, I will add that as a Fax fan today im not surprised, nothing the RFL does surprises me.
But, the rest of RL should be concerned that everyone has wasted so much time and effort for nothing, not to mention the time and effort that has been spent on pipe dreams promoted by spin drs and marketing men. Its about time some of the SL chairmen grew a spine and stood up for the whole of RL and not just their own BSkyB cash cow.

They were warned, on more than one occasion. They either didn't believe those warnings or chose to ignore them. Pretty much everything that followed fell out from that decision.

It's not entirely hindsight. I can recall rumblings about Samuels at the time that Crusaders were admitted to SL. Of course hindsight certainly brings them into sharper focus and I'm certainly not claiming to have predicted the way things would go.

can i just put all this confusion to bed, it wasn't between Wakefield and Halifax, believe it or not Wakefields application was the best of the Grade C licences, it was between Fax and 2 others(not naming names to avoid another bickering thread)

I assume from the knowledge you have that you are a member of the RFL involved in comparing the applications? You really should not be posting this information on a public forum.
Alternatively, you are not a member of the RFL and, as no details have even been released to the individual clubs yet, you are purely speculating.

couldnt agree more,they have wasted 3 years of widnes and leigh`s time,whilst putting clubs like wakey,cas and to a degree harlequins and salford through the ringer with threats and lead halifax up the garden path all for the sake of having a team in wales which has failed badly twice in three years.

will the rfl make someone accountable for these poor decisions ? co not they are above the rules because they make them and damn anyone or club that disagrees with their agenda,so long has the fat man gets a free dinner ticket alls well.

Apart from the obvious, taking away the Widnes traveling support and possibly replacing them with the 5 from Crusaders? Just another reason why the criteria will get harder to achieve next time around.

But it isn't just the travelling support though is it ? , we've seen it with the French , it doesn't have the same ' draw ' as a ' proper ' club does it ?
