Why not have a shiny new stadium in the middle of Hull... call the team Hull Kingston Rovers FC and bingo... we have space for an expansion team in Superleague...
FWIW I believe that Trinity will play at Elland Rd.

More than London, Huddersfield, Crusaders and a couple of others....but what's your point?
The new licences will be awarded with attendances as a minor part......STADIUMS are key this time around and the RFL will use STADIUMS as the reason for ejection.......that's why Cas and Wakey are always mentioned in dispatches.

Incorrect. Huddersfields best SL average exceeds that of either Cas or Wakey and the averages have been consistently higher than both for several years now.

I was just wondering if either side could ever be capable of averaging over 10,000.

when I first started watching RL... about 1973ish... 10,000 crowds were almost unheard of... anywhere in the UK (except Wembley)things have improved massively since then... times change....
I remember Leeds getting a home crowd of about 7000 and being really impressed with it! 3,500 - 4,000 at Belle Vue was seen as pretty good...

I know... thats irony... there was no clamour for HKR to merge with Hull and make one team... or to play in a shared stadium.... yet hese two clubs are closer to each other than any two other RL superleague teams... and both carry the same city's name...
as a trinity fan ifwwe have to move away from Wakefield I would rather it was at a place where we could retain our own identity... two RL teams sharing the same stadium will not work (IN THE UK) in the long term.

If cas and Wakefield have the capabilities of averaging 10,000+ they could both compete in sl, when it didn't look like hull or hkr could I wasn't opposed to a merger.

For a mod you do come out with some crap from time to time unless it was a poor attempt at humour which for an adopted scouse is very poor. Perhaps you might think about letting Warrington swallow you up then you would have some claim to fame other than having the easiest route to North Wales via the Runcorn bridge, oh and the Tesco stadium.

Not sure, [url=http://www.castigers.netcastigers.net[/url probably has the answer.
I know the club sold around 10,000 tickets to the NL1 Grand Final against Widnes in 2007, so the ability for Cas to significantly increase crowds in a new ground is certainly there.

What has a new stadium got to do with glory fans attending a final ? , a final that involved promotion back to SL therefore worth millions to the club , in fact probably THE most important club game played in the last 4 years

It means that there are 10,000 people interested in what Castleford Tigers are doing. It means that there are people who could be attracted to more Castleford Tigers rugby league matches. It's much easier to attract people to a plush stadium in the middle of one of the most popular entertainment centres and retail park outside of London than it is to a decrepit stadium opposite a redundant chemical factory.

| There is no better place to build a stadium in the whole of the Wakefield district than Glasshoughton. In fact, im not sure they could wish for a better location.
The only thing i would put as a negative, is im not sure why people will identify with a club called castelford, playing in Glasshoughton when there are very few people from Cas.

We already get quite a few fans from ponte, knottingley, selby, kippax, methley, altofts, allerton, normanton, featherstone (i personally know several) and even as far afield as barsnley. Another positve is how many new houses are be built in the area, a couple of thousand new houses will be built within 2 miles of the ground in the next few years.
With new the stadium should bring more money, and with that a more competative squad and more marketing 10k is more than achievable.
