I would suggest the standard of that comp would be Conference North/Unibond League and I would imagine there would be more interest from the British public if they showed that instead.

Can't believe anyone would pay to show AFL in UK and not NRL. Whose going to watch AFL? At least with NRL they know there are RL fans who will watch it.

From what I understand AFL tv rights over here a practically given away. Because interest isn't that big in the UK. From the AFL point of view it gives the game a profile for future possible expansion. In the case of the NRL, it is a product that has some genuine interest over here. From the NFL point of view why should they give it away product that has demand and has been paid for in the past. Blame Setanta UK for all this, there the ones that got into a bidding war with SKY. A war the they couldn't win. It's us fans that lose out in the end.

Right now there is no RL on US or Canadian TV. Two years ago I could watch Superleague, NRL, SOO and the Challenge Cup.

I'm hoping that at least SOO gets picked up be Setanta. Also, Spike showed the NRL play-offs last year so hopefully will do so again this year. It's still slim pickings though compared to what it was.

Wasting your time with ITV 4 because between 6am-9:25am they have to show what is effectively GMTV 2 (which is actually childrens programmes). It's hard to explain why but it dates way back to when ITV was regional and the breakfast slot was sold differently, that contract still exists even though ITV now own GMTV. A total non starter then for Live Coverage. British Eurosport is your best bet to badger.
