If you watched any of the games just prior to his injury you will know the answer to that question.

Tomkins is obviously the best FB, I don't think Hodgson is even the best Full Back at Warrington. He was a good players 3 years ago I admit, but he's not in the top 10 of anything on Opta, apart from errors.

Top 5 for me, Tomkins, Hardaker, Lomax (devastating at FB), Kearney, Ratchford.

After last night I think you can move Hardaker down a few pegs.

McDonnell has been outstanding for Hull so far

On this season's form Rhys Hanbury would have to be in there somewhere, Widnes look a different team when he plays full back.

total nonsense....he won the Lance Todd LAST YEAR...we are a better team with him in it...end of.

I think stats only tell half the story. Hodgo has had a fair bit of criticism from our fans this year at times, but we are a completely different side without him. He brings a lot of composure etc to the side and we have struggled without him, last Friday being one example. He led the team at Wembley and Smith was quoted as saying he pretty much sat back and let him tell them what the plan was.

Saying that, I enjoy watching Ratchford at 1 and think he will go well there.

Jordan Tansey has been our most shrewd signing this season. There's not too many barring the obvious ones we'd swap him for.

There's only Tomkins in that list I'd swap for Jonny Lomax.

He was scintillating at FB before his injury, unplayable.

He may have been good in those 4 matches but there is no chance I am going to claim someone is one of the top players in that position after 4 games.

If he plays there and proves that he can handle the technical side of the game then Lomax might be quite high up the list.

Was first introduced to super league as a full back, had a few seasons out of position as half back, great attacking full back better defensively than Tomkins and Hardaker...........probably have him in the top 3.

I'm amazed nobody is bigging up Greg Eden. He's the opposition's first choice when they're playing Rovers. Can concede tries out of nothing.

Not sure i would agree he is better defensivley than hardaker.ill grant you he had a couple of brainfarts against saints on monday but generally up until now he has been superb.great in the cup semi against wigan last year and the try saver on crabtree last week was first class.

Would agree top three though.

stop contradicting yourself...your happy to use OPTA stats to deride Hodgson....the same OPTA stats would suggest Leroy Rivett had a pretty good game in the challenge cup final...you can't have it both ways.

Hodgson's distribution in the attacking line, his positional play in defence and his goal kicking still make him a top full back in the UK....and I maintain that he makes Warrington a better team when he plays.
