We find out which Championship team will get a Super League licence for next season on 30th March. So I thought I would make a poll so I can find out who you all think deserves a licence.

The poll is out of the 3 clubs who have applied Halifax, Barrow and Widnes.

By the way, I know that the sides can still get a licence in July when SL teams find out if they are in or out, however this poll is for who you think deserves to get a guaranteed place later this month.

Whoever goes up will not be SL standard.

That can only happen (with luck) if they get 3 years advance knowledge of going up, like SL clubs have 3 years to "prove" themselves.

It's a farce but then it's the way the cards are dealt and they are the only ones being played.

Do you think Widnes are that different in ability to sides like Crusaders, Quins and Catalans?

At the moment ? Undoubtably , they'd struggle to beat those clubs reserves

At the moment, I think yes. However the games between Fax/Bulls and Leigh/Catalans in the cup will tell us whether there's a difference.

Fax have been the most successful team so it should probably be them.

as for this poll...for the good of the game it should be barrow.......but widnes will get it...which i don't really have a problem with either...

There's a huge difference, there has to be:

Full time vs Part time
£1.6m vs £300,000 cap
£1.2m vs £100,000 Sky money

Figures are there or there abouts. I wouldn't expect to be seeing any closeness whatsoever between clubs in these different leagues. There may be a shock CC result one day though, ala HKR vs Warrington some years ago.

To be honest I don't know how much help 3 years advance knowledge would be. They wouldn't be able to sign anybody extra since they would still have to abide by the Championship salary cap and Championship level income. Admittedly it would give more time to negotiate sponsorship deals and the like but they've still got around 10 months to do that anyway.

It should be and will be Widnes who get the franchise.

Theres no way on gods earth they could play SL gams at the shed of a ground where the floodlight s are of a poorer standard then Leigh Miners

Also, a lot of Widnes fans say that they'll have money to spend up to the cap when they get promoted? So that would suggest they could prepare and adapt the best during the 3 years?

Fax and Widnes will go up. Two out of Cas, Wakey and Salford will come down.
