It is a worry for Quins, attracting decent talent down south.

I know of some of the players they were targetting in the off season, these were NL1/NL2 standard players but I know of a couple who still turned them down as they didn't want to move to London and share accomodation with 3/4 players they didn't know as of yet.

I'm surprised more "Northerners" don't move down to play for Quins. 20 something and earning 100K+ in London would be a dream!

It's full of Southerners and Ockers like Barry MacKenzie. Make it £300k.

based on the salary cap, the average earnings in SL are around £60k, but the point still stands....why do they find it hard to recruit talent from the North, or from the top international players who come over from Aus/NZ?

and you can feel sorry all you like, i've just moved back to london because i got bored of my home town (leeds) having gone back for 6 months. a single (i presume james is), sportsman with more money than most in his backpocket, how is he not enjoying the london life!?!?!

Didn't impress me at all anyway, thought he was a poor signing, but then many of our signings have been poor lately (some have linked it to Tony Rea no longer doing the recruitment). I doubt he was being paid much, it's not as if other SL clubs were beating down his door, and Brian M has a bit of a reputation as a disciplinarian, so maybe he just thought life will be easier back in the lower leagues up north?

I think its more down to the London Harlebroncos being a woeful employer than actually living in London.

I quite like it here. Maybe those players out to kick back down the Walkie with Barry McKenzie and mates. We would show them a side of London they will never have experienced before

He's not as good as Sargent, Jackson or Huby, if you sign him as a squad player he might go fine, our problem is we have far too many of these filler players at the moment. Actually it would be nice if you could let us borrow Sargent for the rest of the season?
