I hope we replace Clawson with a very experienced Conditioner. Surely this is the one role you have to get right and worth paying for.

Just to reply to the fans forum question a little earlier, and forgive me if it's addressed elsewhere, but I understand that there's a fans forum on Feb 3rd. Nathan McAvoy's anger at the lack of Bulls approved hair care products not withstanding.

So it appears that Dave Craven was right after all with his scoop - just released it at a sensitive time for the club?

The hammer has fallen on the assistants who seem to be taking the blame for last season along with a lot of the senior players who moved on (many signed by our esteemed coach).

Now surely McNamara has no excuses for failure next season with some marquee signings and a new backroom staff. That said 6/10 wins in our first fixtures will be adequate for me as a start as long as things don't tail off.

I hope we still have someone who can learn the players Greco Roman wrestling, other than Nero

. Maybe the new guy will do this.

Just some observations on that:

1 - Is it just remotely possible that the assistants might actually not have been up to the job? Rather than just imply its Macca making the assistants carry the can? And that Macca maybe became increasingly aware of this but was maybe hamstrung through costs from resolving the situation earlier? Just a thought? And before anyone says Macca appointed them...hands up those on here who have employed staff and have never appointed what turned out to be a poor one ever? And then had to pick the timing for getting shut? Especially if there were serious cost constraints? I can list several over my career, as well as the stars who went on to do very well. Let him who is without sin cast the first stone...?

2 - Macca never once in public blamed any of his assistants for anything. The "Mutual agreement" wording clearly indicates a compromise agreement, but it seems clear none of the parties are trying to make a big deal of it in public. Which is how it should be.

3 - In the main, the senior players on whom "the hammer fell" were those who most on here were complaining were the non-performers. Or had not played much. Its a bit disingenuous to then implicitly suggest they have also carried the can?

4 - Who are the others of your "some marquee signings"? Given that the nearest we have made to a marquee signing is Orford, and most opposition supporters (including many supporters of your own club as well as our own "Bulls" fifth column) are assuring us that none of our new signings will amount to much?

5 - This new team will take a while to fully gel, so I'm prepared to accept we may not see the best of them immediately. Not the easiest of starts with Hudds Wire Hull and Leeds away and Stains and Pies at home in first ten games, so I would be pleased with 6/10 in the circumstances, as long as we are seeing an improving trend.

6- The wrestling one is actually interesting, as I've heard it said that was a something that we did not seem to do much of in training, compared with some other clubs. Not sure if thats down to conditioner or coach, and only hear that second hand but it did suggest to me that we might indeed have been lacking.

In the T and A article, it says the players are split into three groups - Top, Middle and the ones who are "slightly behind!". I wonder who is in that bottom group now that Solomona has gone...

I like the sound of this Evans guy hopefully his input will bear fruit. To perform in top level sports you need to change with the times and IMO we were adopting a 'me too' approach rather than spotting areas to improve and innovating to make that happen

My only concern is that it appears two people have left and only one has come in by the looks of it.

I was sort of assuming that Medders has had a promotion...official or de-facto is less clear?

the main thing is, we have had major changes, following our miserable season, in the playing roster and now in the coaching staff. Nobody can accuse the club of complacency, not caring, or sitting on its hands.
