You could imagine the League putting us in our place and giving us a right snorter first up. Leigh away on a Thursday night would be my prediction.

My biggest moan about the TV coverage was that the 'super dooper league' commentators referred to Hunslet's famous myrtle and flame colours as green and orange. Ignorant gits..

bearing in mind that we could be playing Leigh 4 times next season I would welcome them as the first game, even away. Then we have an immediate benchmark of the minimum standard we have to achieve.

Some of the commentators didn't seem to have done any research on the lower leagues, let alone watched any games. This is partly an unfortunate result of there being no TV coverage of the Championship (or CH1) this season, but in particular Jon Wells' repeated insistence on being negative about Will Sharp during the Championship final was ridiculous and really annoying. Wells is a former team-mate of Sharp from a few years ago, maybe they didn't get on but Wells insisted on talking about how inconsistent he can be, whether his head is in the game etc. Anyone who has followed Championship RL over the last two years knows that Sharp has been one of the most consistent players in the League, with a fantastic attitude, and his try on Sunday leaping to catch the high kick has been replicated many times (including, famously, on the last play of the game in the league leadership decider last year - which was televised). It was insulting to Sharp, especially as for the umpteenth time this season he was Fev's best player - if Wells had done his research he would know he had won Fev's player of the season award - but even more so to Championship rugby league.

Sounds like Wells was guilty of lazy journalism at best and having an axe to grind at worst.

Sky only covering the middle 8 plus the magic weekend in Blackpool, so it would be sunday 3pm

That decision makes me wonder why I need Sky Sports for the next 9 months. I have no real interest in the #sooperdooperleague at present....

Got to agree. I'm going to cancel my Sky Sports after this weekend. The money saved will almost pay for my Membership this coming season!

Just buy Premier Sports instead. Loads cheaper and you get to see every single match of the NRL season. That's enough rugby league to satiate the appetite of any RL fan, and no Eddie & Stevo to boot!

If I'm honest Nothus, I was put off Premier when I was told that the bloke who does our pre-match worked for them. I don't think I could put up with that sort of pub karaoke type performance - well, ...not if I had to pay for it.

TBF he's not on any of the NRL coverage which is just the feed from Channel 9 in Australia. I've loved having the NRL this season.

I'll be avoiding all the souper douper league coverage next year, I'm not interested unless we get some "middle eight" action.

Can't say I'm too fussed about most of the Aussie stuff, to be honest, though I used to enjoy the Origin games when they were on Sky.

I nver was before but I've been converted this year. That wasn't difficult given the performances put in by the Bulls!

Thought The Championship was going to Sky next year, that's the reason why Premier.didn't take up the option to show it this year and put the money into more coverage of the NRL.

Sky do have the rights to the Champ games, problem is they aren't showing any of them!
Only the summer bash games at Blackpool and 1 game per week when the leagues split. That's all we're getting.

The things you guys have won 'over the years' next season will be really weird for you, but at least you can WIN promotion back to Super League, something that wasn't possible for National League/Championship teams from 2008. Speaking to a Leigh Director earlier this week, from whatever influence a club have can have in the fixtures, they desperately want our first home game to be v Bradford Bulls at the LSV. Hope it's not @ Odsal for our 1st game, had to many depressing visits there !!! (Yes, I am that old !!!)

I remember once playing Leigh at home. We were six points up with three mins to play [five points for try and goal, back then and [istill [/icontrived to lose.

Try to Leigh, goaled by John Woods and our kick off then went out on the full, giving Woodsy a another chance to score a penalty which he took with glee. Woods, of course, was one of the relatively few players we have in common.

It's difficult to be fair.

Most don't want to be obnoxious about it [yeah, I know, there are exceptions..but, at the end of the day, we are [apparently going of be one of just three full time teams. It's not of our choosing, the RFL thought it was a good idea and there's nothing we can do about it, other than crack on and make the best of it, but obviously we have a fair old advantage against the semi-pro sides and it's daft to pretend otherwise.
