| He's still got it IMO.
Seen him many a time at the Shay the past three years working the crowd before the game.
Can't fault his passion.

| I remember being stood near the karaoke stand having a pint when Steve Long was hosting it. He asked a young girl (guess about 12 years old) if she was wet. He meant with sweat because it was a warm day, but the collective gasp from everyone around meant people had clearly got the wrong impression!

| I don't agree with the OP's comments on Steve Bailey he's class.
Woolly Bully is good as well.
Over the years I've used my alter ego Keith Booaza to make many suggestions including the Bring back Wiggy campaign. [urlhttp://www.gopetition.co.uk/petitions/bring-wiggy-back-to-odsal.html[/url
I emailed this to Stuart Duffy who did reply but I've not seen Wiggy appear since.
I think it's actually quite good. At most grounds pre match entertainment is just an after thought. Panache Cheerleaders are good.
I reckon the quality of the bands is directly related to the number of people through the turnstiles though so it's a catch 22.
The entrance music for the players isn't the best Metallica are gash and for maths/computer ggeks and/or bearded train and/or real ale enthusiats.
I'd play something by kasabian. What about The Enemy "Be somebody" after a try? The bit in the song where they repeat Solid gold over and over again.
The naffest of naff post try celebration songs though is that song that they play on the darts. You know da da da da da oi oi oi? It's fine doing it at a PDC darts event that's a laugh but at any other sporting event it is the saddest thing on earth and that really is cringe worthy actually no it's not it's the second saddest thing in the world. The saddest thing in the world is the Barmy Army chants. That is ok at an England Test match (or ODI or Twenty20). But at any other sporting event it is so pathetically, cringemakingly sad it actually makes me wheep with embbrassment for the people doing it!

He was known for chatting up the younger women. He went out with the lead cheerleader of the late 90's Bulls.

Woolly played after every try is ok if your 6 years old,
I propose its time for a new start, lets ditch the old and dated songs and get some decent tunes played during the games
Its a new start and a new beginning , please let this be the last time we have to cringe

Meanwhile elsewhere Leeds Rhinos have abandoned "Marching On Together" in favour of the more modern "I Should Be So Lucky" by Kylie, Hull FC will no longer sing "Old Faithful", instead they have chosen "Club Can't Handle Me" (Flo Rida ft. David Guetta), and St Helens fans unanimously discarded "When The Saints Go Marching In", in favour of Cee Lo's tender modern tone poem, "F**k You", which in a fans' poll just narrowly shaded "The Referee's a W*nker"

I would agree it's one of the most embarrassing things of being a Bulls fan is that crap being played when we score a try or kick a conversion.

Personally I found getting beat at home to Catalans & Salford and away to Quins the most embarrassing. In fact, I couldn't give a toss about the music when there are results like that.

| To be honest the OP is nonsense anyway. The Bulls' never have played the same tune after a try, whether it be Wully Bully, cotton eye Joe or any of the others that people pick out. Since the start of playing music they have always played different tracks; nine tries, nine tunes. It's clubs like Warrington and Cas with their incessant Tom Hanks, which they play after EVERY try which really I find boring, and annoying of course, 'cos it means they've scored again!

Well yes. But that's the standard around here with several trolls and numpties, some people are such whingers that they make something completely up in their heads, and then berate the Bulls for it as if it was fact.
Sadly though - at any ground in any sport - the days of letting the fans spontaneously celebrate what just happened are long gone.

| Just reading this thread yesterday gave me an interrupted night's sleep - couldn't get bloody 'cotton eye joe' out of my head
I don't know how any club can inflict this on paying supporters (pledge or no).
Woolly Bully's OK though, it has been a while since hearing it has immediately conjured up images and associated emotions of Vainikolo barging through the Leeds defensive line

We've not played it in years I don't think.
For me, it generates a unique atmosphere at Odsal, when if left to the fans it would have all the atmosphere of a Papal visit - and significantly more protesters who don't actually know what they are protesting about.
