Can't understand why we would want Pitts or why any deal would likely feature him. We don't need back rowers. If GC has refused TUPE, and Hull need to offload players to avoid SC breaches in order to get GC, then that would leave GC in limbo if Hull can't create any space.

We don't want Pitts. Decent a player as he is, he isn't a prop and never will be. We are 'suited' for SR and loose and don't need more so, if Carvell were to leave our money will be better spent on another prop. Agree entirely, if Hull have agreed to take another player which will take them over the top, well it's their tough luck.

As I understand the live salary cap situation it would mean the RFL refusing to allow the deal, whether we allow it or not. Which basically means Carvell stays here with no fault attached to us so maybe Carvell could build bridges and get back in Franny's good books.

I agree on the first part, on Pitts as part of any deal, that sounds like it would suit hull better than us. However, it depends on the figures involved, which none of us know. A straight swap carvel for Pitts with no change in our costs is a poor deal for us. But if the deal was Pitts, and we could get a decent prop in and reduce our overall costs then it's not too bad.

Shouldn't this type situation be simple? If he has transferred across he is our player until we decide otherwise or in 2yrs, if he hasn't he can walk, we can't do a lot about it as I understand? If we don't have a watertight contract Tuped across the bulls website statement saying he ain't going anywhere could look foolish

Carvells agent is Phil Clarkes brother. I listened to radio humberside and they had martyn sadler on and according to him there is a rule the rfl have which is something to do with employment protection for players. In short he said there is nothing to stop GC walking away and any otherplayer as well.

You know what, we've lost finer players than Carvell so I just want it finalised as soon as possible now. It's looking increasingly likely that we're going to be involved in a real dogfight to survive this year. Carvell would have added some quality and experience to the fight but only if his heart is in it. Disappointing in a way because some of the squad likely to be left behind have dealt with far more uncertainty and problems than he will have in the short time at the club.

We've still yet to hear anything from the player himself, but the longer than goes on..the more likely it is that he is seeking the move to be honest.

I would suggest this is all but done. He was in Hull yesterday catching up with a couple of old team mates.

In situations such as this administration where there has been no consultation ,ALL players and staff have the right to refuse to be transferred to the new company IF they give notice at the time of the transfer. A sports lawyer is quoted in the T&A stating that refusal should have been made that day-- personally I think a court would allow a few days. He speculates that Carvell will probably go ( as he has probably taken that option) but there will be compensation due. He says it is unlikely anyone would do this without an alternative job in place. Hence possible breach of the tapping up" RFL regulations. We will see.
The other right a transferred employee has under the legislation is where the new contract makes " substantial changes to working conditions".
Regarding your claims about non payment of wages and "at least 4 others wanting out" , to be polite I have severe doubts these claims are anything more than wild rumour. Why only " some" players? Why has there been no suggestion of unpaid wages from any interested party , in particular the players,players agents the union ,the RFL?

So I expect the RFL to come down hard on the respective parties for the illegal approaches. Just like they did over the Kopout affair. Oh hang on....
