Right, just to say as a Cas fan I was embarrassed by the attendance at the Catalans game...but not surprised because our crowds invariably nose-dive for SKY games regardless of the opposition. Our problem is that historically we sell relatively few season tickets - I would guess only 3000+ this year - and our usual walk-up of around another 3-4000 is obviously going to be decimated when people can watch the game on TV for nothing. The tickets are among the most expensive in SL but as anyone could deduce from the population figures already posted we haven't a cat in hell's chance of selling enough to replicate the discount schemes offered by Bradford/Huddersfield so in that respect I would agree our small town status is detrimental.

Nevertheless we continued to draw bigger crowds in NL than several SL clubs and every year we seem to attract more than most for cup games against lower league sides so I think we still have something to offer attendance wise.

I knew you'd all gone a bit quiet due to the sharp decline in the standard of your playing personnel, but you lot are taking this much worse than I had previously thought. Seven pages, and more on the way no doubt, talking about attendances rather than performances on the pitch!
Do any of you really feel better about your own teams plight by attacking a team that punches well above it's weight? If the asnwer is yes, then I suggest that says on awful lot about the type of fan you are and what you contribute to RL.

We're a small town. Don't forget what your crowds were slipping to last year? Your fans didn't wanna know. Only reason they do is due to the cheapness of the tickets. In fact, I dread to think how poor your crowds would be this year without the offer you lot have.

To an extent. We'll never be able to get 15K+ crowds due to the size of the area for example.

There are plenty of excuses, but none should wash. Regardless of what many think, Castleford has a large catchment area, and I suspect when the new stadium is built, the crowds will increase dramatically.

As previously posted though, the fact that Bradford fans feel the need to take a pop at a "village" team's attendances when they're artificially propping their own up just illustrates how miserable being a Bulls fan must be these days.

Still, any small victory is still a victory isn't it? Hopefully you can start getting some on the pitch soon.
