Just thought I'd create a thread to appreciate the big guy with his 'fantastic four' type arms.

I was looking at his stats on saintsrlfc.com and he has scored a staggering 26 tries in 49(11 sub) appearances which is an astounding ratio when he's played at prop in half of those games at least and usually plays about 50 mins max of the 80.

The guy is immense and what he brings to the table sometimes goes unnoticed. I hope he can keep his form going into the play-offs.

I'm so pleased we have another year at least from TP. Our pack looks awesome with TP, Graham, Perry, Roby, LMS etc. I love that Eddie and Stevo also Eulogise about him whenever he plays and does something amazing in the red vee.

Tony Puletua is probably in the top 3 props in the Super League with Graham and Morley. He has been outstanding this year and last and fully deserves all the accolades he is getting. Probably our best overseas signing since David Fairleigh and Darren Britt!

In the forwards yes, but overall i'd have to raise you Lyon!

I did mean in the forwards. The backs obviously Lyon stands out as the very best overseas signing we have made in the Super League era along with Fairleigh IMO.

TP is just awesome. His handling skills for a prop are acceptional and his ability to suck in defenders and still be able to offload the ball. I hope he extends his contract.

For me along with Roby he has been our best forward this season.

fantastic player is TP, it winds me up when people say he's lazy and doesn't carry his weight.. you're also not considering how many tries he makes with his offloads

I have a similar debate with DD pretty regularly. I think he's awesome personally and without him and Graham we'd be absolutely screwed. They've carried us for two seasons those two.

I think that applied to last season. This season, though, he has been much, much better. And I love his extending arm trick.

i know alot of fans from other clubs wouldnt agree here but TP could have well been in contension for MOS for me, outstanding player that goes unnoticed most of the time

IMO tony p plays his best rugby at prop as he's more involved at prop. When he plays in the backrow he takes a back seat from the hard yards that he'd do at prop, that IMO is when people call him lazy.

I think tony p has been awesome this year. I'd go as far to say he's been just as good as graham this year.

He's a top bloke off the field as well.

Doesnt get enough credit from fans because it seems our fans are obsessed by meters made or how charismatic someone is, but to me, and ive always said this, will go down as one of our best signings of the summer era.

He's the kind of player who can certainly carry on till he's 34, so maybe a 2 year extension next season, if he's up for it. Possibly playing less minutes though for more impact.
