Following our exit from the cup, and the suggestion from Ski regarding a potential name-change for the site, it is clear we need to replace the banner at the top of the board.

As has been customary since the creation of the-entertainers we will open the floor to all you budding graphic designers to submit your ideas/designs for consideration.

As Ski has already stated on the 'new kit' thread, i have far too much time on my hand at the moment and have already drawn up several ideas a selection of which I will post below.

As far as criteria goes there are only a few things that you need to remember:

1) Keep it relevant - We all know what the subject matter is so it shouldn't be that hard to stick to this, but we're bound to get some trolling.

2) You must include the (current) name of the site, and the two lines "(A) part of the RLFANS.com Network" and "An Independent Saints Supporters Site" (or a variation thereof).

3) Do not use any copyright images you do not have prior permission to use. (We may be able to help you with regards to images from Bernard Platt's collection).

4) Your image must be no larger than 766 x 191 pixels, I believe .gif is the format of choice, though i could be corrected on that?

5) No lewd images

Some more:

From a designers point of view, go for the bottom one and use the saints badge from the current one in the same way and your onto a winner. Maybe also with the Red vee behind the text but faded out or something.

Why arnt you waiting till the season ends? you might need one with you been champions on?? It seems to me your all pretending that it can't happen so you can be dead suprised if or when it does!! do you really need a new banner anyway?? You have won the cup enough times that only a fool would try and pull you up on it!! Come on saints fans!! I think you lot have let the defeat to hudds cut ya a little too deep!!

We need a new one for a few reasons to be honest, the cup defeat being on but mainly it is because the current one hasn't been changed in nearly two years.

We did have a new one (the one in my sig in fact) created ready for when RLFans was being overhauled and the sizes of all banners would be changed but this never happened.

The fact is the present one is looking a little tired and dated and with the subsite changing format into more of a blog, Dave (Ski) felt a change of banner would also be appropriate.

We could wait until the end of the season but we have traditionally changed it around cup final time and should we win the Grand Final a new banner could be commissioned and used until the start of next season.

Ask the guy who did ours on SS. He's very good and IMO ours is the best on the boards atm. Im sure he could knock you something up.

Ponners is nice, look better with the superleague trophy on it though, and the hubcap hidden in the corner somewhere.

Might put the hub cap on for you but the Super league Trophy and challenge cup trophy are going on the Giants banner in the next few weeks

After staring at the current banner again and realising just how out of date it is now, and seeing as nothing much came of this thread last time around, added to the new look of the boards these days, I thought I'd reopen the chance for people to design a new banner.

Similar guidelines stand from the original post in this thread but the dimensions can be 766x75 pixels in line with other boards adoption of this size.
