Its all well and good playing well now but we need to do it in the Grand Final lol! The last hurdle over the last two years and we have failed! I have a burning desire in my body too make sure it isnt a hat trick!

I would settle for a cup win and 2 league wins bearing in mind the games coming thick and fast and a few injuries

Not in my wildest dreams could I have wished for this...

You're 100% correct. It's going well, Leeds losing to Salford is hilarious, but the last laugh will be laughed in October not April.

Injuries are going to play a major part aswell Blobby. We havent got the strength in depth that the Rhinos have and it could all go pearshaped if we lose eithier Cunningham, Long or Puletua for any length of time.

I'm not convinced Leeds have much more depth than us to be honest. Look at their squad and after their starting 17, they are all pretty much youngsters like ourselves. The difference between us and Leeds is we will have potentially 4 more games than them and they will have plenty of weeks to rest up. That could make a difference at the end.

That was the downside beating them in the Cup not that im complaining. I thought on the way home that day this could bite us on the bum as the last couple of years have proved.

I agree the depth of squad is very similar, the Saints advantage is that we,ve played 5 or 6 young players already and they have not looked out of place.

Got to agree! Ashurst has been outstanding in the back row this season but we cant expect these young players to perform to these high standards everyweek. We will be there or thereabouts for all 3 trophies at the end of the season but I personally feel we will only win one which will probably be the Challenge Cup.

The Grand Final is pretty much always won by the team that is in better condition going into the play offs. There is always one of the two sides that are going well and another struggling through. For us to win the Grand Final we will have to use the squad well and trust the young players.

Graham for one needs a week off.

I have said before that Graham will end up like Fielden at this rate. The guy needs at least a week off too recharge his batteries.

If the possibilty arises that we could be 6 points ahead in the league with 3 games to go then the team could be rotated in the last 3 games to top up the players energy reserves.

The last time we did the double in 2006, was that the season the "sick notes" came out on a few of the latter games.

Cant see us being six points clear with three games left matey to be honest. Saints will lose at least a couple of games it just depends on how Leeds react over there appaulling run of form. Knowing Leeds like we all do the will probably put on a 10-15 game winning streak now. They arent back to back Super League Champions for nothing.

aye, we sent the academy team to France in August 2006 - the week before the cup final. Cant see us being in a position to do the same at all this year though.

That's true to a degree - Leeds looked awful when we stuffed them in the 2008 Qualifying semi yet we all know what happended two weeks later...

An alternative plan
Race through the league, get 5ish games clear, rest for 4 matches and then bring back better players with 2/3 games of the regular season left and the playoffsc
