| Good good.
They spot the fans are getting a little restless as we lose everyweek and the other teams announce more major signings so they decide to announce this instead?
"We are planning promotions to attract fans to the bars around the ground and committing to "pub style" hand-painted signs once all the bars have been named in a forthcoming competition."
"The Saddened! bar" has a ring to it. Or are they going with the rugby theme? The Scott Moore Bar? The Sean Long bar? etc.
And what does this all mean? Will I be able to buy something like Fosters as well as all this oldy-worldy Northern crap?

| This comes across as a massive improvement on what we have had in the past.
Being linked with a proper brewery with brands and reputation to maintain, rather than a mere drinks wholesaler, should ensure more attention to quality than has been historically the case in Uk sports grounds and at Saints.
I am however not expecting the bars to be filled with hand pumps serving Robinsons Best, Unicorn or Old Tom in cask conditioned form.
Instead I suspect that we will get Robinsons smooth keg bitter being the main bitter on sale, in all except the corporate areas.
To get just one pump in each stand serving a real ale would be an achievement on whats offered in most stadia.
I'm intrigued by the fact Saints will have its own beer brand called Saints Gold. I wonder if this will be essentially a re badged version of "Dizzy Blonde" which is a light summer ale. Or if this will be a new drink perhaps an India Pale Ale.
Lager drinkers should be very happy with the choice of Robinsons, as the lager they sell is Veltins Pilsner.
This is a proper German Pilsner, not the usual Carlsberg, Fosters or Carling rubbish.
Veltins is also regarded as a summer beer due to its refreshing taste. So this seems well suited to summer rugby.
The big worry with having a decent Pilsner on sale however is if Saints also offer 2 pint pots. Things could get pretty messy for people who arent used to drinking man strength beer.

| Robbies is a great pint. As CM has mentioned, Veltins is a great beer, these fizzy drinkers won't know what has hit them.

Behave, lager is a drink for your teenage girlfriend. Us real Lancashire men drink Bitter or Mild. Leave that other e for the krauts

Thwaites Wainwright????
Pseudo- beerdrinker. That stuff is lighter than my . Get some Old Toms (mentioned) inside you. Go out to ASda now and get a bottle of Lancaster Black or Red. Beautiful dark beers. If you must go for a lighter beer; get an Empire or maybe a black sheep.
