A lad at work knows the Burgess family and I cheekily asked him once to ask Sam to sign for saints in the future. This lad told me hes a yorkshire lad through and through and the only team he would possibly play for other than the bulls is Leeds. He also said that Sams dream is for all 4 of the Burgess' to line up for the same team.

He has been a bit of a shadow of himself since he came back from his shoulder op. That said the bulls have 0 confidence right now, so this could be a factor

I understand what you're saying, it is difficult to play outstanding rugby in a poor side. But, you need your big players to stand up when the chips are down and you'd have to consider Burgess in that bracket. He's definitely not delivering at the moment. He doesn't look as powerful last season, he seems sluggish to me.

He looks very sluggish at the minute and isn't playing the game at the pace were used to with him where he crashes into tackles and hammers people in defence.

It's either a fitness problem or a motivation problem imo.

He had a shoulder reconstruction recently didn't he? Thats bound to take a long time to recover from just in terms of confidence. He's probably not been able to do anything like the work in the gym he would have normally done in an off season. I reckon by the end of the season he'll be smashin n' crashin again.

With that shoulder injury and his current failure to discover form he would be considered an expensive risk at the moment. He's not helped by being coached by McNamara, who is yet another unproven coach who walked into one of the top jobs in the league. I can't see Burgess staying there if the side doesn't improve this year and McNamara is still there next year.

Very young indeed for a forward, and if you take that into account along with the shoulder reconstruction then it's no big surprise he isn't setting the world on fire every weekend.

I'd be more than happy if we signed him; unless he's very unlucky with injuries then by the time he's 24 he'll be absolutely immense.

Agree with Blobbs, he has completely undelivered this season and has been anonyminous in every game this season that Bradford have been on Sky.

Can you imagine Graham being in the same position, playing in a beaten team, Graham would still give 100% and stand out, whereas Burgess has settled for mediocrity at best.

I will probably be proved wrong and hopefully for Great Britains sake i am wrong but it could be a case of First season big impact and second season teams have sussed him out.
