Personally, I thought the Leeds fans were awful. It came across loud and clear on Sky that they were singing fat ginger b*stard and of course the cheers when Leon and Kyle went off were equally clear. But if Leeds fans want to show themselves up as being even more halfwitted and unsporting than we already knew them to be, so be it.

However, I have written an email to the RFL because it's frankly embarrassing to hear RL fans behave like that when intelligent people could be watching for the first time. God knows our sport needs more intelligent people. So many of the fans are just halfwitted lobotomised idiots. Especially those in Leeds. Something needs to be done to protect us decent, intelligent, sporting fans from the hideous embarrassment that are so many Leeds fans.

But what do you suggest we do? Have a sivve like filter on every turnstyle where we ask them about their thoughts on James Graham and if they know any chants about Gareth Thomas etc?

It wont happen, nothing will be done and gaslight was getting excited about the possibility of Leeds being fined for such chants as he mentioned, simply because, such chant was heard on TV. TV or not, every team is guilty of such chants and every team will not be fined. Just not every team sings about obscenities re sexuality ((which is illegal) and i have a gay sister, who both me and her found offensive when we found out about such chants coming from Wheldon Road). It is factual that gaslight is clutching at straws and no club should be fined for such chanting that was apparent last night, n'or should they face a filter at the turnstyle.

Ah well, Castleford won't be in Super League next season anyway. Never know, the Wakefield-Castleford Wildcats might make it though.

I was in the pop stand at KR a few weeks ago, and, while you expect a few obsenities, there was one woman who consistantly spurted really bad language throughout, even away from the moments of drama when the main populos react. Swearing at the ref, swering at the opposition and fans with real venom in her tongue.

If I'd have had kids with me, I honestly think I'd have been having a word with either her (or the stewards) about it. I'm not the sort of person who's easily upset, but it was just 80 minutes of someone basically swearing for the sake of it.

They should be. If the RFL is serious about RL being a family game - and tbh I've never seen it as such myself - and if they are serious about the respect policy, then they should do precisely that. They should make it a real threat to be heard chanting obscenities - at individual players or at the referee. It shouldn't matter whether the chanting is illegal or simply an expression of prejudice; it should be stamped out. The only way to stamp it out is to get serious about fines. However, the RFL is not known for enforcing even the game's own rules so I doubt very much anything will be done. Unless Sky threaten something, of course. Action will be taken very quickly if that were to happen.

There are plenty of chants that happen which are not obscene and you know that. Leeds have that yukky one (though God knows it should be banned; it makes me want to vomit whenever I hear it).

Chant away; just don't make them obscene ones. It's really very easy. Unless you have no grasp of the English language, which maybe many fans don't.

There are, but the way things are going, we wont be able to chant about much incase we frighten the oppositions 17year old debutant or something like.

I dont join in with the obscene ones, just cant see anything being done by the RFL about this one chant about someone's weight and hair colour.

I find it ludacris cas fans are signalling calling someone a ginger is as worse as been homophobic. i think this just shows the small mindedness that this pathetic band of supporters are. Grow up and go sulk back to dog island

there's been a few letters in this mornings rugby papers complaining about the chants at leeds.

It's more the fact that if the RFL are serious about the respect policy then Leeds should also receive a fan for failing to control the fans, like Cas, because all abusive chants are abuse and not just homophobic ones, it really is that simple, but it seems Leeds fans can't grasp fairness & equality, what a surprise.

You can chant plenty. Like I said, there are loads of chants without them being abusive towards individual players or the ref. No need for it. And if the RFL had a will, rather than just wanting to appear not to break the law (ie: by - rightly IMO - jumping on homophobic chanting), then they should be threatening all clubs from all the leagues with hefty fines unless said clubs ensure that the element of their fanbases shut the fook up with abusive and obscene chanting. It really is that simple.

Indeed there have. Good! But it won't change anything IMO. The RFL is a pretty weak organisation.

And Leeds are guilty of not being able to control their fans, just like Cas were as again, something Leeds fans can't seem to grasp, all abuse is abuse no matter who it is aimed at.
