I hope I'm wrong, I've just not seen enough from this side to suggest they've got the mentality to stand up to Wigan's wall of aggression, especially since it's rumoured we'll be without Manu, Laffranchi and Amor.'"
Hang on! Is there some kind of reverse psychology conspiracy here? I was just adjusting myself to a possible loss, now I’m reading posts like this. Something’s afoot, and I don’t mean the thing at the end of mi leg!

It's Sad End. It's pretty much been his form this year to back against us.
I've not kept a track on it, but certainly Warrington, at least one of the Hull teams, Leeds (although we all backed that horse wrong), Cas, Wakey and now Wigan have all been Sadodds on to beat us.

| I expect a close tough match, and just hoping we've enough to collect the two points.
I'll say 24-16 Saints and the match on the balance until the final few minutes.

| I can see a very similar match to when we beat them 22 -16 last year, this season we have more strike power and mental toughness, on paper Wigoons look weaker.
Walshy kicking game and Lance's open play could be enough to tip the balance our way, expect the usual arm wrestle in the pack, with perhaps Mose again tipping the balance.
One thing we can forget is the form of each team, its a derby so its going to be a battle until someone gets the upperhand.

| Wigan have got off to awful starts and had to overcome deficits in 6 of our 8 competitive games this season, if we start anything like we have done against Cas, Catalans, London then I fear it'll be over by half time. If we can keep it tight in the first 20 and play the error free, well disciplined game we're capable of as we saw against Wire last month then we have a shot. Goalkicking is a worry if it ends up a close game though.

| Handicaps have us at -6 (SkyBet at -4)
We are 4/7 favs for the game too.

Not true at all. All I've been doing most weeks is questioning the calls for us to rest 8 or 9 players.

I think wigan will try and make it similar to the Wire game, the problem is that Saints have more creativity and a tactical kicking game.
With Roby, Walshy, Lance, Lomax, Soliola around thats a decent strike force and add the bonus of "Miracleson" we should be tagged as favourites.

Strange, as the beginning of each half was by far the most dangerous period for you, as you attempted to "blow away" the opposition early.

I like the tag Miracleson.
Although it is setting the lad up for a fall evertime he touches the ball.

Saints fans, building up a youngster to unachievable levels? Who'd of guessed that!
That said, long may the makinson miracle finish continue!

Yeh it's not been like that this season, we've been our own worst enemies with ill discipline and poor errors. Just to highlight our poor starts:
Hudds (H) - 12-0 down after 30 mins - Lost 24-8
Sydney (WCC) - 18-0 down after 21 mins - Lost 36-14
Cas (A) - 16-0 down after 14 minutes - Lost 36-31
HKR (H) - 16-8 down after 21 minutes - Won 34-20
Catalans (H) - 16-4 down after 45 minutes - Won 22-16
London (H) - 10-0 down after 8 minutes - Won 36-14
We've certainly not been "blowing teams away early" in 2014 and you can see why I'm worried about us getting off to a good start against you lot. I've seen enough against Wire and the 2nd half against HKR to know we can put things right, hopefully that starts tomorrow!

I'm always nervous about the derby, have been since Royce took over. Perhaps I'm being a bit of a pussy, but I feel like its come at the worse possible time, coming of the back of some shaky performances and Amor missing.

Yet despite all that, wigan win their game in hand they are pretty much on a level with leeds.
Whenever I see a trophy winning team with indifferent form at the start of the season, playing kind of poor, but still well in contention, It spells danger to me.
