29. Something in T&A said that he's nearly put pen to paper though.

If Wigan keep getting on the lads back, he might want to move.

Don't believe the hype.
Kevin Penny MkII, without the blistering pace.
Even a desperate Noble can see it.

Something behind the scenes gone wrong with him to be dropped for 3/4 games was it?
Think we have had our spotlight this year with Leon " The Shoulder" Pryce

| On the dodgy grounds that Long left and given the lack of decent British scrum halves, the only new scrum half for next year should be Eastmond or a recruit from the NRL.
When the academy has produced some really promising players, I would be disappointed if we looked overseas.

I dont think 29 is old for a front row. Paul Anderson was 31/32? when he joined us and IMO we got his best 2 yrs and DA was convinced he could have done another.
I would go for Lynch if we can.

Ainscough is a talent but, if what i am led to believe is correct, he could be Wigan's new Barry Ledger.

Sorry, He's 30, but I agree that's still not too old for a prop. If you look at his stats you can tell that. I just hope he is one of Mac's prioritys to re-sign.

I would agree with that. He has great pace and would be a good player on the wing. I have been slated in the past for saying I would rather have him than someone like Fox. With Bradford all over the place they may struggle to resign all their players. None of our back three have great pace so Halley would be a good signing.
The other two players I think would be good signing are the two Matts at Bradford. Matt James has looked very good this season for fax and seems to be a big strong mobile forward. Matt Cook has looked good for the Bulls too but as we have a lot of second rowers another one is probably not needed.
Lynch is a bit of a donkey and rumour is that he may be on his way back to Cas anyway.
I would not consider any of the others.

We may as well sign Penny then if pace is alls you look for in a winger.

| Of those on that list, Andy Lynch is the one that i would be most interested in to sign.
Against him though is his age.
He could however do a job for a couple of years like Paul Anderson did while some of our young props mature.
David Halley is fast but is quite error prone. You have to remember this is a guy that the Bulls loaned out at the start of the season because they regarded him as not good enough. He then went to Wakey and went quite well. He has managed just 5 SL appearances.

I noticed too that I did use the word pace a bit too much. He also seems to have a good step and be an excellent finisher. I like him as a player.
I am sure this will upset people but Penny could be a better player if he was coached better.

The reason Halley is "not good enough" at Bradford is because he is not a 20 stone Kiwi. I think he is more a Saints style player.

Even so, just as a couple of good performance does not make you a world beater, a couple of poor one does not make you rubbish either.
You can be the best half back in the world, if you are playing behind beaten forwards, then you've no chance.'"
Trust me mate he is the worst scrum-half i've ever seen. He's rubbish, the Hull forwards where giving as good as they got against Leeds' pack imo and he was well out of it. He's being terrible since Bradford and before then he was merely average, he can't lead the team around the park, he can't kick long-distance he can't pass he's awful.
We where camped on the Hull KR line for the last 20 minutes of the game and he still couldn't get us over the line... Poor poor player.

Anyone who is fit would be good enough to replace JC. I agree JC is a much better player, but we need an established front rower who can play some minutes.
With JC out of the equation is he better than Hargreaves and Fa'asavalu? As a starting prop very probably.

| Kirkie is one of the most under rated players in the league and has to be one of the best finds in the last few years!! i think i speak for many leeds fans when i say we would be gutted if he left. a real 110%er and a big unit with power pace and stamina. a great squad member at leeds
not a chief but king of the indians
