| BA = Blue Army
JR = James Rowland
BA = Full name and nickname if you have one ?
JR = James Rowland, Spider
BA = How long have you been in Rugby League ?
JR = I started playing Rugby when I was 9 for Woolston Rovers so I have been playing 11 years now.
BA = Who have you played and coached in Rugby League?
JR = I have played with and against some quality players whilst playing but I would say one of the best I have played with and against is Ben Currie.
BA = Do you like playing/coaching or watching ?
JR = Some of the stuff that Stevo comes out with on Sky makes me wonder how anyone enjoys watching Super League
BA = What is your best moment in Rugby League ?
JR = Has to be signing my first contract for Warrington at 16 and how proud it made my Mum and all my other family.
BA = What is your funniest moment in Rugby League ?
JR = My funniest one for Oxford is definitely JJ hitting Thommo square in the chops with a ball in Pre season, he dropped like Mike Tyson had landed a haymaker on his chin and stayed down for a good 5 minutes saying he could see stars.
BA = What do you think of Rugby League in the south ?
JR = I think it's a great for the game getting players involved in League down south instead of the traditional route of Union. Without the backing of blokes like Ade and TC it wouldn't be possible so they deserve a lot of credit for all the hard work they are putting in.
BA =Why did you become a Rugby League fan ?
JR = My dad is the reason I got into Rugby, he got me my first season ticket at Wilderspool when I was about 8 or 9.
BA = How did you become a ORL player?
JR = I got a call off Thommo after I'd left Warrington saying that TB was interested in signing me and when I met up with Tony it sounded too good of an opportunity to pass up.
BA = What is it like playing for ORL ?
JR = It's a big commitment for me to be playing my Rugby down south as I'm just about to start my second year of my degree in Criminology at MMU. So I have to balance my workload and rugby. But playing at a ground like Iffley road with a group of lads that we have here makes it worth it.
BA = Were do you see the ORL in the next 5 year ?
JR = Hopefully with a strong looking southern based squad who have progressed through the 19s and into the 1st team and are competing with the best teams in the Championship on a regular basis.
BA = Do you think you can help raise the profile of the ORL ?
JR = I'm not sure if I can do a great deal being a Northern based lad, but I hope that some of the less experienced Southern boys can learn little things from my game like I do from theirs to keep improving the team.
BA = Can you tell us 3 things about the Club or players?
JR = 1) Jj is the grumpiest bloke I've ever met. 2) If you're ever having a BBQ Glenn is definitely the man to let be in charge of the grill. 3) Tommy Connick could sleep through an earthquake.
BA = What would you like from the ORL Blue Army ?
JR = For your continued support, it means a lot to me and the lads when we know your travelling home and away to come to watch us play.
Hope that's ok.
See you Sunday
Jimmy
