| The "freak" results over this weekend with the Wire being taken by the Reds and Wakey beating the Giants have led some people to say that their players who doubled up were tired after the Exiles game.
From a Rhinos point of view, this is the third year on the bounce that we have not only fielded players in this mid-season test but also recorded a win in Super League the same weekend. In 2009 and 2010 we fielded depleated teams and this time we played the "international players"
For my two penn'orth why not dump the Magic Weekend and have 26 rounds of Super League and keep a free weekend for this Exiles game? and maybe, just for those who like a weekend away - play it in Cardiff!
Your thoughts please!

| Have you been to a Magic Weekend? I have an certainly would not want it dropping. It's an excellent concept and one, which I'd guess, has a lot more backing from the fans than an Exiles match.

| I was there too in Cardiff and I loved it. I think the idea of taking a city over with league is great. I feel that we could continue to develop the magic weekend and it should become something for all fans to look forward to.
I really like the exiles concept too. It is good to have a really competative game for the international team to play. We certainly need to do something to try and catch up with the southern teams. The only way to improve this idea would be to construct a week off somehow.

Harlequins and the Skolars?
The Exiles game (if it is repeated) perhaps should be played on a Wednesday, preceded by a Friday/Saturday programme and followed by a full Sunday one.
I'd keep the Millenium fixture - great TV.

| Controversial I know but... why not have it Challenge Cup Final Weekend, exclude any players from the two final teams, and hold it at the Stoop (or even Wembley long term!).

Because if it was Wigan v Saints in the Challenge Cup that would be a third of the Exiles squad (as it was last Friday) unavailable. Which kind of defeats the object of the game

Yeah I see what you mean. It's makes the Exiles a kind of 'second best' selection.

Exiles squad is only "allowed" a maximum of 3 from each squad anyway. So that would only ever be a maximum of 6 players missing.
You never know... it might mean that England have more of a chance.

How many fans back this Magic Weekend concept by actually going to it?

It would give England a better chance at winning a "test" mind

| I thought the idea was that England don't have a chance of win it?? Why pick Wilkin otherwise?

| Alternatively, if we are going to stick with this pantomime concept demeaning representative rugby, move it to the weekend between the Grand Final and the start of the Four Nations. Let it serve as a genuine warm-up game for England rather than a pointless mid-season diversion.

| I've got an idea... instead of playing a bunch of blokes that have either long since retired, or never actually represented, why don't we play the actual current Australia & New Zealand teams?
We could do it after the season had finished. Perhaps in some sort of tournament arrangement. We could do with adding some whipping boys every year too. Wales, France or PNG would be my shout. 1) It would make up the numbers, and 2) It would give England a chance of winning a match.
I think it's a flyer. If it takes off, we could even eventually include up to 6 different countries, or if you'd prefer... "Nations". The only stumbling block I can see is just what you'd name such a prestigious competition in which 6 Nations competed against one another.

| I'm not a fan of the exiles concept tbh, i think it should be another big wake up call, to where england rl is at the moment, we are highlighting the amount of overseas players in SL and lets face it bluey was able to pick a better group of players than mcnamara. i know we were missing mcguire, brough, roby, burgess, and ellis but thats no excuse.
i'd scrap the magic weekend, free up a weekend and like to see yorshire vs lancashire brought back with it getting as much promotion and hype as the england vs exiles got
