really pleased he is doing well. Met him and his girlfriend and parents in Sydney's Blue Mountains ( we wern't lost either unlike that silly tw*t the other week ! ) just after the World Cup had finished.

Does he make the coaches comments about how far behind Ellis was this pre-season seem a bitt ill informed or have incorrectly recalled what the fella said?

I'd say so,it appeared to be a dig at our coaching and comp over here at the time and ellis has proved imo that we do have quality players in our comp.
Great to see him doing well and i'd take him back in a heartbeat.

IIRC didn't Sheens say something along the lines of how much work it was going to take to bring him up to speed and integrate him into the side in the role they wanted?

He also questioned the level of coaching in the "basics" ellis had received!

Something along those lines. Either Sheens has done a great job or Ellis was this good a player all along and Sheens did him, and our competition, a dis-service.

I think we all expected Ellis to do well over there but let's not get too excited, there are very few players of Ellis' calibre over here.

I hope McDonnell's right about more Poms heading over to the NRL. It would be A Good Thing for our international side.

Sheens is fantastic coach no doubt about it but his dig was neither warranted nor factually correct.

Sheens' comment was reasonable as a general put down on the comp over here as reflected by England's performances in the World Cup but perhaps unjustly directed at the individual player.

At the time I thought his comments were daft seeing as he'd signed the actual player he was putting down.

Watched him a few times now. He's looked awesome , stands out over there so hope he comes back to rip up Superleague again. To me he seems to have bulked up a bit since being over there??
