I presume Taylor Smith is a female, if not who am I to judge.

* edited for accuracy
But seriously, he has been a great player for us over the years, I hope he goes out on a high........ and doesn't change his mind.
Hopefully Kylies announcement will clear the way for another from the sleeve.

I agree. Leuluai makes it sound like his decision in that article but I doubt it was. Can't see Leeds not keeping him if they only had Mullally coming in and Baldwinson and Mulhern used conservatively.

| Not necessarily indicative of a new signing.
Leeds will potentially have Baldwinson, Tonks and Foster coming back next year. Mulhern will be another year older and more physically mature. I think you can fill Leuluai's role (which this season has been negligible anyway) from within the squad.

You could fill his role next year with those two of Baldwinson and Mulhern (can't see Tonks and Foster returning and are backrowers anyway) however I can't see McDermott using them weekly constantly. Still times when Singleton seems not completely trusted. Wouldn't be surprised to see Mulhern actually loaned out next year if they can find the right club a bit higher up than Hunslet.

| How is foster doing at Fev? I was impressed with him when he had that run in the first team a couple of years ago. Then thought he did ok in a depleted side in London last year. But no one on here seems to think he'll be returning to us next year? He's 21 now I believe.

| At the moment we have:
Cuthbertson
Singleton
Mullallay
Baldwinson
Mulhearn
We need at least 1 experienced prop with some go forward IMO, and we can rotate the 3rd and 4th prop between the final 4 in that list.

| It's the loss of peacock that is the great gaping hole in our props in my opinion. Mullally is a good signing but he and Singleton can't fill that gap on their own. I think we need another experienced prop as, IMHO, we're just scraping by this year WITH Peacock, never mind without him. It would rely on Cuthbertson doing a huge amount of props work which is a waste.

Don't forget we do have an advantage over other teams on the metres front, by the fact that when we have a first choice backline on the park, they make a lot more metres than the other teams, which should in effect reduce are reliance on the props to a degree.
Personally, I am not convinced metres are what we will struggle with without Peacock, it is the equal in defence and appetite for work that he gives, where It is hard to match. That could be filled by a position other than Prop if needed, which then opens up more options for recruitment if the thinking was that way.

Agree with all that. Our back line, especially the back 3 are excellent at getting us going forward.
You're also right it doesn't necessarily need to be a prop to fill the gap, it could be a backrower. I just hope we bring someone in as I think the likes of Cuthbertson and Ward are too skilful to be laden down with very heavy workloads, it'd be a waste of their talent.

| I personally think it's more likely we'll see a strong defensive hooker come in before a prop or half, with burrow being used as cover for sutcliffe and Mags and hookers if we get injuries, with the hooker on the field at the time being expected to have a heavy workload in the defensive line.

| Leeds go out and spend big money (either in fee or wages) on a hooker, they need their heads testing.

| For 2016 the priority has to be a Prop imo the gap losing Peacock will create in work rate leadership etc won't be filled as we stand not even close.
I'd also like a gun BR like a Zeb Taia/Ukuma Tai type Jjb is very much becoming a bit part player if he stays and Achurch/Delaney are too injury prone.
I know we are "rumoured" to be chasing a HB but i think we need the 2 above first and foremost we have scope to go into next year with Mags ,RB and Sutty for the 6/7 slots with Lilley/Hardaker as back up it may not be ideal but it wouldn't as bad as starting next year without a top Prop & BR imo.

| But if we're going to have 2 hookers in the 17 then they both need to be able to defend in the middle. I'd like to see Robbie Ward given a chance off the bench but, i'm not convinced he'll ever make the grade from what I've seen.

Who said anything about 'big money'?
Also Him, unless McDermott suddenly decides he's going to play Aiton as a 80 minute hooker (which I can't see) he's not that good in attack or defence when he's not on the pitch.

Which I'm sure Robbie Ward or Burrow can fill. It would seem very unnecessary to sign another hooker unless Aiton's future is elsewhere.
It'd be like signing another quality full back for the few games a season Hardaker might be injured.
Totally unnecessary.
The only kind of hooker that might be useful is a Pelissier type as a backup. But then it means Burrow & Ward's future isn't at Leeds. Again, at the moment, unnecessary.
