| If Burrow is playing "second fiddle", it's because Aiton at this moment in time offers much more in the hooking role than he does.
If he moves on for 2016, it creates a pathway for Robbie Ward. No big deal, thanks for everything.

| as ive stated before. yes burrow doesnt get the minutes, but the minutes he does gets massively impact on the out come of a game. surely he can see that he is an integral part of the team.
if we lose burrow along with sinny then we really do need another player, but i want robbie to stay.

| In a way, perhaps a wholesale change is actually better going forward.
Young players can step into the shoes of the departed veterans without them hanging around the place like a ghost. Also means combinations can be put in place for two or three years going forward, rather than chopping and changing every year with staggered retirements.

| The one issue about a Burrow departure is how is effects the juniors. Doesn't he (along with Ablett) still coach some off he younger age groups?

| I would totally understand If Burrow decided that playing for another club where he started and played big minutes week in week out, was what he wanted to do next season. But I hope he stays with the Rhinos, he brings an extra attacking edge when brought on against tiring defences and provides us with an 80 minute option in several positions if required through injury. Also from his perspective playing regularly as an impact role from the bench should extend his career. Wish him well what ever he / Leeds decide

| He would be found out at a club like Cas where responsibility would be expected of him. He does not have that in his locker, certainly not at this stage of his career. He is a flair player who plays to a level when good players are around him. Not sure he would have that cover at Cas, which would Negate the qualities of his abilities.

| Quote ="cheekydiddles"Whilst I agree Aiton is no Buderus, he's easily been one of our top 3/4 performers week in week out so far this season. In terms of purely what both bring to the 'hooking role' IMO it's more accurate to say Burrow is no Aiton.
Granted he brings other things to the party, from the bench IMO but obviously Rob has decided that at this stage in his career he needs to be starting every week and IMO for the best interests of the team, out of the two Aiton has to be the starting hooker.
Whether Rob should be/should have been our starting 7 is a completely different argument but IMO that has more merit than him being our starting 9'"
Agree re Aiton, Burrow is not a hooker and has been forced to find a place there as a direct result of Sinfield moving to 6 and McDermott preferring McGuire to him at 7. Would Burrow feel the same if he were starting and Aiton coming off the bench?

| Would love to see us make an attempt to bring Widdop back to Yorkshire for next season. Our halves would suddenly look a lot healthier.

He would not be for me rather one of the Reynolds or Cronk, we need a half with a very solid kicking game to compliment McGuire with Sutcliffe playing a Sinny styled 13 who could then revert to 6 when Danny retires.

Still early days on that one yet, I reckon. The kick from the touchline in difficult conditions at Cas was superb, but then he horribly shanked one from a similar position later in the game. Consistency comes with practice and repetition, that's how Sinfield got to be as good as he is.

Sutty kicked throughout his Acadamy days mate but then came into the team as 4th choice behind Sinny ,Hardaker and Burrow he is practising more and more now so it will come.
Also lets not forget Sinfield was pretty poor himself at first who can forget "There's only one Ben Walker" ringing out v the Dulls??

| Looking at the SL stats from previous seasons, Sinfield was at 75% kicking accuracy for 2003, around 78% for 2004, then continually from there at the 80% mark.
Unfortunately it doesn't have the 2002 stats, but I too recall Sinfield not really excelling with his goalkicking early on and when Ben Walker wasn't playing, that Sinfield and Furner shared the duties.
Sutcliffe is of course not going to be as good as Sinfield but he seems as good as any option after that. I mean Burrow is on the bench for a large chunk of the game nowadays and Hardaker I say would probably be about level wih Sutcliffe. If Jordan Lilley ever makes it to the first team he should take over though as he seems to be a really good goal kicker.

He's on about kicking. Considering how great a kicker Sinfield has been and in the game is quite rare to be that good, it is a fair enough statement to make.

I know exactly what he's on about & my comment still stands.
When Sinfield started out as our main kicker did you or anyone know how successful he would be?
Regardless of what you would like it to be, the answer is "no".
We may have hoped he would be good & we may have believed he would become great but nobody could know that with certainty at the outset.
The opposite is also true, as it is with Sutcliffe.

Quite correct, only time will tell. I saw parts of his game at Cas that showed he has a lot of potential.
i would expect this season will be a learning curve for the lad.

I meant in terms of this season he won't be as good/successful as Sinfield with his goalkicking. I agree we don't know how good he'll be 5 years down the line if he keeps the job on a regular basis.

I know that, but Think about it for a minute and you will realise what he said. How many kickers have there been in our game over the last 30 years as good as Sinfield? Then look at how many goal kickers there have been in the same period. To match Sinfields goal kicking would take a lit more than just been a goal kicker.
I could very well be going to bed tonight with Taylor Swift, I am a man with man things. But really, it's unlikely isn't it?
