I have heard benefiting say that the cc final is worth around half a million. The grand final less so however. Wcc is decent but as and rfl event and profits slot the revenue wound be less than an extra home game in the league

Whatever the loss of income is... and I do believe my estimate of half a million is on the conservative side... I expect it to be a hard pill to swallow, and particularly so given that the club have got very used to extra income as a result of appearances in at least two finals a season (more often than not) for the best part of a decade.

It week be a hard pill to swallow. I don't call the season a huge failure. Yes we should be looking to win everything every year, and yes we win nothing, but in reality only a max of 2 teams can pick up silverware, and a max of 4 can make a final.

Leeds not being good enough to reach a finalthis year will be accepted as a bad season. If it's related next year, I would expect more serious action

Don't worry Bill, I'm sure Leeds will be one of very few clubs to return a profit this season, despite the obvious disappointment of no major finals. I'm sure I read somewhere that the majority of the bonus for winning the gf went to the players anyway. We also, I suspect, have been nowhere near our salary cap.

Wigan should also be in the black - on the back of the money NZ Warriors have coughed up, but we all know about their 'creative' accounting in recent years so who knows. You include the wcc - which this year would have been a good money spinner. Next year it's likely to be in Sydney so I don't expect that to benefit anyone but the travel agents.

It is an earner. However, we played in one this year.
