There is no doubt that players in most positions are bigger now than they used to be, but it's not a necessity. A good little un will always beat an average big un as the saying goes...

Well 5ft 10" is just one inch is less than your 5ft 11" and that is exactly the height of Golding who you poo pooed as too small.

I seem to recall seeing a photo of a Leeds side from way back (1930s or something) which for some reason had the players' weights on it. The heaviest was something like 13 1/2 stone, and the halfback was about 7 stone. No matter how good that team was they'd get beaten by an under 17s team today.

I've got the 1938 Championship Final programme and it has players weights in that and most of the forwards was 12 or 13 stone.

He was gash. Unfit, uninterested and getting banned right when we needed him was stupidity of the highest order.

There’s a player there no doubt, shame we just saw a shadow.

No but ones on loan looking to secure a contact who end up vanned after one game, when the do play they are oenalty machines, and make no impact whatsoever and are generally pure crap. So know we have not misded out on a good player we saw enough of what we would be getting.

I think he needs good coaching. He didn't get that at Leeds & he won't under Radford. Strange signings from Hull with him & Dawson.

Interesting times ahead for Hull. Without getting into the nuts and bolts of the arguments that occurred on here about who had the worst season, they were poor mid-end last year and I don't think signings like these two will address that.

Agreed. I think there are similarities with the 'coaching' of Leeds & Hull. Both McD & Radford strike me as motivators & man-managers but cannot coach, particularly, structured attacking play. Leeds & Hull have been blessed with cracking playing squads who have not been the sum of their individual parts. While Leeds have lost their creative nucleus Hull have continued to under-perform with a top 4 squad.

We're talking about Jordan Thompson not Boyd Cordner.

These two players haven't been brought in for our first 17, they will be some depth should we get the same kind of injury numbers as last year, where we played kids that were just not ready to be playing 20 SL games. They will bolster our reserve grade, and hopefully provide some adequate rotation at times in the season
