Did Burgess play last week? I seem to remember him not coming back on after his first stint against the French, injured?

That's what i'm thinking LP there's no other explanation for him missing the same with Clarky out and Hauraki named.

Agreed can't see why you would rest clarkson and include hauraki unless some fitness issues.

Second week off for burgess

He looked alright playing touch at the John Charles on Monday night.

He's gone AWOL.

He did perform ok against Cas.

But look at his performance in more detail. As a prop in a tighter - tenser - first half he wasn't used. He was kept on the bench. Mac couldn't take the risk of him coming on and offering us one of his brain-farts as his key contribution.

Leeds pulled away in the second half, then when his possible peformance would have no bearing on the result he was brought on with around half an hour to play to run round looking technically awful.

Thems the breaks.

Then when he did come on in the 2nd half he lead with the elbow and gave a penalty away. I was surprised he didn't get a ban for that, had Ganson been the ref he may have had 10 mins in the bin.

Yup, that incident is grouped under my wording of 'running round looking technically awful'.

It was a 'daft', 'sloppy', 'technically awful' incident to add to the scrap book.

A ban would have been moot, seeing as he won't be picked.

Slightly weak bench in terms of strength, but bring McGuire on for Ali, put Sinny at LF and JJB in SR etc.

I'd go with that if Clarkson is fit, if not I'd put Pitts in.

Kirke has actaully been in decent form so he'd get the nod over Hauraki.

How's JP getting on now he's back from injury?

He seems to be good tbh, we look more solid with him in the team.

He looked very jaded last week.

I don't think he anywhere near 100%, you try telling JP that.

Quality player, even below par he'll contribute well.

If fit McGuire would surely be on the bench - he didn't even start after a good run of games.
Ali - has to be on the bench. Leeds play it tight for the first 20mins, complete sets with solid painful defence, then lift it 6 gears when Ali comes on.

Should be an interesting battle across the pitch this evening
JP vs Moz especially, but also Buderus vs Monaghan, Sinny vs Briers, Myler vs Burrow and Ali vs Solomona
Will be interesting to see how Zak manages to handle Monaghan, and vice versa.
Maybe change my earlier team, and start Kirke/Hauraki with Ali on the bench = more impact.
Would interesting having Leuluai on the bench with Bailey starting again = more impact, but would probably still start Leuluai.
To win i think we need to stop Briers and Westwood, if we can control them and not allow Briers especially to control the game, then we could easily beat them.

Donald and Diskin may have "reneged" (to use a Swiftcorn-ism) on their new contracts, but at least they're off the salary cap and not stealing a living like Lauitiiti.

The try he scored last week (starting from Back-door-Bailey) to the sweeping passing which found Ali lob to Zak and getting on the end of the return pass was worth attending just to see that move. It 'did it' for me.

I'd say Leeds need to play tight across the board of the match.

Tight in defence, and keep ball retention high. Play the hands when we have built the pressure etc.

I'd like to see Leeds turn the screw on Warrington, let them know they are in for an arm wrestle and just see if we can get them a bit twitchy. Their last few games have been training sessions so let's give them some niggle down the middle as a shot in the arm.

It only stays warm for so long.
