| Quote ="Marty Grrrrrrrrrr!"While we scored some nice tries it was a sloppy and poor performance for me today. Our kicking game was awful and baffling. Surely against championship opposition you dont want to keep kicking into touch so they can get a breather? Wouldnt keeping it in play and making them work to grind them down and tire them out be a better option? Both Maggsy and Lilley repeatedly drilled it 20 or 30 yards into touch. Not knocking the players who must have been instructed to do it but surely making Championship teams work at a pace they arent used to would be a more sensible tactic????
Marker defence was lazy and non-existant at times.
To defend the players it must be difficult getting up for a game they know they will win comfortably but i expected better today and left the ground disappointed with the performance.'"
You think we went into this game with any sort of tactics or game plan? It looked to me like our plan was to show up and outplay them, it was the sort of complacency we have been seeing for years

It's total earache when "Barry and Terry" are on duty. If that's what the plan is when Stevo retires in October then an already abysmal product will be dead an buried.
As for the Leeds performance, as usual for this season I regretted wasting the time to watch it. As I said before, you guys who have shown up to games this season deserve medals (or you just like to pay for 17 men to inflict pain on you).

This is the issue for me for next season - I cannot see how this team will be challenging for honours next season.
It is painful to watch them struggling to deliver a decent performance - they have a virtually full strength side out for weeks

yep. but some people have the blinkers on David. the nucleus is there but we need some quality signings.
to many lately have been cheap, and sadly, low quality. we are where we are for a reason

If Leeds are committed to this squad then I can't see how they have the cap space to sign the quality of player they need.
I get Printer's point about the pre-season/injuries but by now this team should be red hot and it is decidedly tepid.
Segayro looks OK but only because we haven't had a proper hooker for so long. He looks a little one dimensional to me - it could be he needs more time. He doesn't look in the Roby/Clark quality and the number of forward passes he throws is a worry but that could just his team mates getting used to him.
The biggest thing for me would be a new coach - it will not happen for next year - the brand of rugby under McDermott in the main has always been turgid and has relied on off the cuff stuff that is not of his making. I struggle to see what he is bringing to the party. I get he is the most successful coach ever in the world but that is question of circumstance IMO

To Fev? It would be just his luck that McDermott followed him (wishful thinking )
Just watched the "highlights" ...awful. Best try by the London right winger. Maybe Leeds could sign him and the hooker (Cunningham)? More likely though we will see more of Luke shuffling down the wing and Burrow scooting into his inevitable blind alley tackles next season

| I really enjoyed seeing Leeds win the treble last year but this year I'm glad we've been able to temper that with a touch of realism and avoid having nobody to compete against.

| Another win, another box ticked. Get a win against salford and then batley and it's job done, over with, bish bash bosh. We can then get this season consigned to the trash can of history, one of the worst and most challenging seasons in decades.

The winger in question is Macani, and he's on his way to Bradford next year apparently.
As for Cunningham, he's tied down with us till 2018

Nobody will be going on holiday until safety is guaranteed and even if we beat Salford and Batley it won't be mathematically guaranteed. Plus who do we bring, Walters, Luke Briscoe, Walters are with Fev. Delaney and McGuire probably won't feature again. The only people who haven't featured are Handley and Golding and it's not like our starting wingers have played too many games. If we've guaranteed safety with a game to spare then we might see Cameron Smith or Sam Hallas get a game vs Leigh but ONLY if we've landed a top 3 spot, which looking at fixtures probably still won't be guaranteed after Round 5.

Not that I disagree with you, because your point is correct. But from yesterday, we have Burrow, Singleton, Ward, Handley, Golding, Smith, and a lad who has possibly done more than most to deserve an opportunity, Sanderson, who can replace people.

| More garbage served up & then a deluded Coach tries bigging it up as some kind of ground-breaking form we're in.
This squad is well & truly done as is the Coach if GH fails to rectify that then he's losing his grip on reality imo.

Sanderson certainly deserves a chance as does Brierley but i doubt he'd come in at FB before Golding.

Qualifiers Round Three around UpRound three of the Super Eights Qualifiers would see two clear favourites for Super League 2017 emerge while two sides would finish the weekend needing miracles for their shot at the big time.
Salford and Hull KR met of Friday night in a crucial match for both sides before the Rhinos travelled to London on Saturday afternoon to take on the Broncos. Sunday afternoon saw Featherstone Rovers host the high flying Leigh Centurions while the Huddersfield Giants were at Mount Pleasant to face whipping boys the Batley Bulldogs.

Did McDermott really try and big it up as ground breaking form? He didn't from any interview I heard.

Obviously though Burrow and Singleton would've played barring injury and Ward might effectively be replacing the injured Delaney in the 19. For the others I doubt Sutcliffe, Hall or Briscoe are the ones being targeted for a rest/holiday, especially the latter two. That just leaves a Cameron Smith type to come for someone like JJB or Ferres who have played a lot, which might happen but is hardly indicative of a mass squad holiday upon safety.

But Sutcliffe and Briscoe's can also play other positions, and in reality so could Hall in the back row, should the benefits be better than the selections.

| Agree Tad, he can carry a ball but that's about it. Decent offload.
Can he tackle, no not really, can he run lines, no, is he able to put up with the constant beating you get in the pack as it is a completely different type of fitness.
Hall has at most half the skill set I'd want to see from a backrower.
