Even more blatant than Sinfield jumping at Richards with the knees to take him out off the ball in your in goal area? Even more blatant than McGuire's embarrassing attempt at obstructing Pat earlier which failed and Hoffman got the try? What about the chicken wing on Hoffman that looked like his arm was gonna come off? Let's face it, when Leeds gave the first penalty with their niggling after just 15 seconds of the match it was obvious they hadn't turned up to play rugby league. Those dirty tactics got you close to beating the champions though, I'll admit that.

A top stand off, a second rower in the mould of Eastwood and a world class centre please.'"
Not his biggest fan at scrum half but less of a fan as hooker, buderus with mcshane is a better prospect for me

| It's a shame that Hood didn't get a run earlier in the season, as we will be relying on him and McShane next year apparently.

He wasn't square because Smith moved way off the mark (not unusual for Leeds). Should have been a Wigan penalty.

| Another sober analysis from this afternoons poor excuse for a Super League game....
I'm embarrassed that Leeds Rhinos lost to that pile of steaming cack that reside at Odslum.
Catalans did everything they could to lose the game, but still won!!!!
Don't think Mr Gledhill will be over to gloat this week.

| Quote ="Gotcha"There is complaining about officials, and complaining about officials.
Forget the forward pass try, these things happen. What was inexcusable was the fact that Leeds did not get one single penalty in that second half. Anybody with half a brain could see there were at the very least 7 or 8 opportunitie for Wigan to be penalised in that second half. Infact he did blow up once, then when everyone stopped he shouted play on. Then the first half non sinbinning of Tomkins, that was a joke, I don't think any other ref would have not played to the rules in that instance.
For Leeds, probably best performance of the season. Peacock was absolutely immense along with Sinfield. Webb and McGuire put in some excellent quality but were hit and miss in oher areas. Buderus is just superb, and JJB and Ablett really stood up to be counted. Personally, unlike others, I wasn't impressed with BJB, but not to an extent that I feel the need to critisize him.'"
Spot on IMO

It's a major problem in the game as a whole over here. When George Carmont at 33 is the best centre playing in Super League it doesn't say much for our British/ English centres.

You wigan fans are far and away the most one eyed in the game...you might want to try watching the incident with your eyes open next time...Tomkins tackled smith then stood up [ubehind[/u him and made a tackle - it doesn't matter if Smith was on the mark or not Tomkins was on the wrong F*cking side of the PTB and therefore should not have made a tackle - its a penalty everytime and a sin bin anytime that its after a break

Wigan fans...bar far the most one-eyed in RL...
Sinfield jumping "with the knees" not only do other teams cheat against you they invent new and preposterous forms of foul play to try and hurt your precious superstars
McGuire I agree took a shocking option in trying to make the Wigan player miss rather than going for the ball...but you do realise you got a try and therefore by definition there was no "professional foul" don't you??
A chicken wing on a wigan player - someone should tell Michael Macguire, I'm sure he would be disgusted by any club using such tactics ...no really, he'd never lower his sides to use such tactics
Oh and WTF does niggling have to do with professional fouls?

Oh thank you, that's really nice.
This is my first time on the Leeds board. I like it so much I will come back from time to time.

| Quote ="Keith Swiftcorn"That extra bit of luck, the rub of the green, the winning try from a forward pass or from being offside... these are all things which the top teams often benefit from because they get themselves in a position to do exactly that. They possess that extra edge to their game.
For Leeds, they used to benefit from such fortune on a regular basis but no longer because they've lost their competitive edge on a consistent basis. The squad is over the hill and they can no longer be considered one of the top contender teams. The only thing left for them is to provide nuisance value against the top teams. They've failed miserably to do this because there's simply not enough left in the tank with this ageing squad. They've been able to raise their performance only twice all season and it's no coincidence that's been against Wigan as they've treated both those games like must win games or Cup Finals. They can no longer maintain that level week in, week out.'"
That sums it up very well for me. Wigan were lucky to get away with that. We didn't play our best (although we weren't poor), but now have that "winning edge" that Leeds used to have.
Jamie Peacock, as good as he is, can't be expected to take on the job of the entire pack on his own, but your other props were poor. McGuire's still a class player but not in the best of form. I used to get worried every time Burrow got the ball a few years back, but now he seems to have completely lost his way. You've got some decent youngsters in the outside backs though.
Every team waxes and wanes over the years, it's inevitable. You've had a few great years, you'll probably now have a few average ones, just like us.

I'd like to think the performance against Wigan last night will be the spur for Leeds to kick on from here and to raise their level of performance for the rest of the season. However, the evidence of the season thus far suggests their performances will drop off again as they face the rest of the SL whipping boy rabble. Not that it matters too much as they'll still win most of those rabble fixtures.
Next week is crucial. Leeds must beat Catalan otherwise they may well find themselves trailing them by 6 points and staring down the barrel of a 6th place finish on the SL ladder when they really ought to be finishing 5th.'"
Can't argue with any of that really

We were average. Worst place league finish was 7th in recent years (that was admittedly after being 6 points clear at the bottom of the table with 8 games to go ). In a league of 12, 7th is about average.
I don't really give a t0ss what other Wigan fans have said on here. Teams' form, as with dynasties, come and go.
