Nail on head.
I actually was pretty appalled at the petty nature of Eddie and Stevo's comments. The lads raised a lot of money for a worth cause. I don't think it had anything to do with our shoddy performance and is disrespectful to the quality of Siants performance to suggest otherwise.
We got caught cold against a quality and very motivated Saints team. It happens. It's happened before without dyed hair. It will happen again. When the Saints team sheet was read out I thought, that's a quality line up, regardless of their form.
Not to mention we had two of our best backs (and playmakers) and two of our best forwards missing, not that that excuses the abject display from those selected.

Still on the "hair do crusade"? That's my first post.
Singled out for charitable efforts? What charitable efforts? are you saying his mutton chops were for charity? or have you got completely confused with something else?
Quote ="rhinoms"The defeat was down to us been cr@# and ST's playing very well and no amount of hair dye can contribute to that.
Hair Do's don't influence how you tackle ,run ,pass or kick do they or have you unearthed a coaching gem?'"
Don't dissagree with your usual narrow minded view. Which is why I concentrated on looking outside the obvious. And posted about attitude, as per:
Quote ="Gotcha"Yesterday right form the off was an attitude problem rather than a quality/talent issue. Their heads were completely in the wrong place leading up to that game.'"
If you dissagree, fair do's not an issue, but let's read the post properly first and actually take into context what was put.

| Prior to us winning the GF you were slating JJB for his Mutton chops and posted it somewhat was becoming a distraction did you not?
Jjb raised £££ for charity by raffling off the right to shave off his mutton chops did he not?
Call it narrow minded all you want it had NOTHING to do whatsoever with the Red hair of the events in promoting their Sport relief actions.

Did he really? I suggest you look back and get your timescales correct on it. I'm by know means saying I didn't slate the mutton chops of JJB. But seriously let's not get into silly pishing contests that it was all for charity in the first place, because it wasn't when I were slating them, not that it would have made a difference anyway.

And I dissagree. It's my opinion that their heads were elsewhere, and they showed a wrong attitude at yesterdays game. Their preparations were not as they should have been, and IMO that was down to taking time out of their preparations for silly pish takes.

I love how you describe an action to raise money for Sport Relief as "silly pish take" and blame an all too regular ST's away performance on the few hours the squad took out of their week to support that.
ATEOD hairstyles or charity awareness don't win/lose RL matches nor do the few hours out of the week taken to support it.
Or are you suggesting the players missed training to do it?

| People seem to forget/or not know that Leeds players usually do bits of charity work every week that last several hours. Danny McGuire for example often does things with Leeds Mencap during the week before a game, is this a shocking bit of unprofessionalism also?
A few weeks ago Sinfield, Watkins and Hardaker went down to Eton Uni for the day to give speeches, didn't stop them winning against Castleford.
The only unprofessional part about it is the students at Thomas Danby College can't seem to tell the difference between red and pink.
Some people can blame hair for a defeat if they want, all it proves is that if brains were made of chocolate those people wouldn't have enough to fill a Smartie.

Perhaps they should have dyed their hair for their Eton speeches. I'm sure the lads there would've picked up on their professionalism had they done so.

Keyboard warrior finding it easy to criticise a player over the Internet shocker!
Keyboard warrior getting all tongue tied and needing a fresh pair of pants if he ever came face to face with Jamie Peacock......now that would be cute.

Gotcha, in the video link JP is asked if there was any disruption whatsoever to their preparation as a result of the hair colouring. he answers categorically no.
As you have alleged there must have been are you suggesting JP is a liar?

| Good thread this. We've been humped at Saints with normal hair, to attribute this humping to hair dye seems a bit strange.
To be honest, I was concerned about a wounded Saints with their Messiah as coach seeking vengeance for another GF defeat, before I even thought about pink hair. We got our defensive line all wrong, were off the pace and got blown away in the first half an hour. Unless we believe that mis-communication in the defensive line is causally linked to hair colour, that isn't the problem. Bad day at the office, against a dangerous side with a point to prove. I see no need for more explanation than that.
Presumably at least people who think the haircuts were the problem will be happy that it will be easy to correct for next week? No need to spend time working on your defensive patterns when you can just shave your pink hair off eh?
Also worth noting that I've seen Danny Brough and Sean Long produce a few match-winning displays with far worse hair than that.

| In terms of points difference the worst defeat of Coach McDermott's Leeds reign. The worst Leeds margin of defeat since a 56-10 reversal at Knowsley Road in 2004 under Tony Smith. The =8th worst Leeds points reversal of the SL Era.
_________
If that performance yesterday had been in aid of 'comic relief' rather than 'sport relief' it might have been easier to understand.

I am suggesting that JP will have said anything but that it was part of the issue. Who in their right mind is going to say they shouldn't have done it after making such a publicity about it?
I've spent about an hour on the internet on here today when I should be working. Do you seriously expect me to tell my boss that?

Man who spends an hour on the internet when he should be working accuses rugby team of wrong attitude for doing something charity related.
Priceless.

Unlike our respective bosses who don't know we're wasting their money on here do you not think McDermott might have noticed if his whole squad sneaked out of training an hour early to go to the barbers?
You said they took time out of their preparations. Peacock says they didn't. I see no reason to think he's being anything but honest.
I don't think Peacock is trying to mislead his boss. Sounds like his boss is in full agreement.

| I think the possibility and more likely scenario that they got it done AFTER training hasn't entered a few peoples heads. Rugby players don't spend every single hour of the week in training, they do have free time you know.

| If you turn up as half d as we did last night, with your hair pink, people will naturally point to that as a reason. The players must have known that. I won't criticize them, because it's a great cause and at the end of the day who cares. It's just if you do go for that look, you put yourself up there to be shot at.
