Weird way to look at it.
IMO winning today more than makes up for last wk. It showed when we get up for games against th top teams we can win them still, and thts v encouraging heading into the end of season.
Hard to raise ur game against crusaders. I get what u mean, its 2 points we shud hav won last week but honestly i dnt care. We cn win it from 8th.

He did....and please now understand it's nothing personal with regards to Diskin.
McShane also showed enough to make it difficult to see how Diskin can ever fight his way back into the side. This young guy looked awesome too. Both looked far sharper, dynamic and inventive. A great position to be in. I hope we can keep all three next season, but Buderus and McShane must be the priorities IMO. An interchange hooker team that might actually work... and have a future this season and next.
The team performance was absolutely superb. Whatever his critics might state, McGuire does have a habit of scoring some classy match winning tries. Peacock as always was outstanding. Bailey looked good too: his quick play the balls are a real feature. Even Senior rolled back the years with that try.
The Crusadors result was even more puzzling after their respective performances today.

Your never ending inability to beat the really top sides. You can now add (as predicted) - a home defeat with a fully fit squad to select from V a Leeds outfit with six regulars missing, to the growing list of 'chokes' for 2010.
You're in my thoughts at this difficult time as yet another season goes down the tubes for the nearly men of SL.

We didn't have a fully fit squad though did we? And yet another season going down the tubes for the nearly men? Funny that,I could have sworn I saw one of the most prestigious trophies in RL history on display at the HJ last week with primrose and blue ribbons hanging from it? I must have been dreaming, obviously!

Who was misisng for you because you certainly didnt have almost half a side missing.
You failed to beat a Leeds side missing 6 players.

He will probably say Myler and Carvell, who were playing for their reserve line up before the match. It wasn't that they were missing, it was just that Smith had selection headaches of a good nature, and decided not to utilize them.
Leeds were brilliant with ball in hand this week, absolutely brilliant. Complete turn around from before, they actually were standing deeper, instead of the predictable flat line all the time. The forwards were immense with the effort, again a comlete turn around from last week.
Still can not hide from the defence though, and I don't care what Opta comes up with, but I will be suprised if that was not our worst yet for missed tackles.

Very true, I'm just hoping that like the last few years Bluey has targeted uping the intensity in defence just before the play offs, our aggressive defence has played a massive part in the past 3 GF wins and it's been missing this year.
Senior was terrible defensively (again) yesterday but just about made up for it in attack.

| Buderus was class yesterday. My MOM by far. McShane had a vital stint as well. Brought off at the right time too. Let the experience of Buderus play the game out.
Eastwood carried some impact. Great first half.
JP and TMFMISL were HUGE! Always moved forward, never took a step back. Crunching in the tackle.
Sinfield was clinical and McGuire had the class.
Dare I mention the Senior try?? Jesus!! He rounded Mathers like an 18 year old. Hit the ball at pace, out of the clutches of Morley. Great moment.
Defence is still an issue. On this occasion we got away with it. Having said that Wire rolled forward and looked good on the ball. 2 great attacking games.
The Briers short kick-off was a turkey. A play that bit them on the bum and eventually came back to haunt them.
Talking of being bit on the bum, that's what Briers looks like when he does his little jig before the conversion. A method that is obviously working! What happened to Hicks kicking? He always seemed very good at it.

Agree with all of that, except Bailey was ineffective in his first stint, but absolutely massive in his second stint when we were leading.

| You have to admire the way Smith gets a team to play. If Briers had kicked some goals Warrington would have won the game, and still played attractive rugby that didn't involve either: laying on in the tackle and wrestling on the ground with 4 men for eternity, or "scooting" from dummy half 30 times a game. I don't think Warrington need to panic at the lack of big name scalps this year, they only need to win those games come playoff time.
Great effort from Leeds, I thought they were out on their feet after 25 minutes but (and I hate to quote Eddie Hemmings) but they really can be the AC Milan of RL. Shame about the home defeat last week though, 4th spot was there and we would have teken some shifting.

We scored 6 tries each and we won by 7. Had he kicked =#FF0040all his goals they would have won by 1 point.
Warrington did lay on though, just the same as any other team depending on what was taking place at the time.
I also dissagree on Warrington not needing to panic. I said a couple of weeks back that I just didn't think for all their better team play, that Warrington and Wigan had the necessary player quality to be able to win the big one this year. It is quite fitting that in the last two weeks, Leeds and Saints, have gone to each of the great pretenders away from home with half a squad missing and both won.

Wrong.
Carvell and Myler were not risked in a fast paced game, Carvell had been out since April until recently with a broken leg and Myler had medial ligament damage which means he has been out since the Hudds CC win, if fully fit both are in the 17 every week no selection headaches they are key.

You know he did silly question.
He wasn't supposed to though he was put in because someone pulled out, neither are fully fit thats why they didn't play not because Smith picked others as they are better.
It would be rather stupid to put them into a game like that after 3 months out.

| So, those two players (Myler and carvell) were fit to play but not sufficiently match fit for your coaches liking. They could have played though. Not like, Lautiti, Burrow, Webb, Clarkson, Diskin, Burgess and Kylie who could not have played.
Also, whilst you were agonising over whether to play fit but not match sharp players we were left with a makeshift pack and our international winger played large parts of one leg and the latter parts on no legs (class of the Wire fans to boo him when his knee went btw).

Your full squad was available to you if required. Of our 6 (or 7 is it?) injured players not one of them was even remotely close to being available. We also had Ryan Hall out there who was clearly playing with one good leg for the 2nd half then jarred his knee late in the game. Instead of test him Wire decided to put in a succession of aimless kicks in on the first tackle in an attempt to retrieve the game.

Leeds Are gonna do it next week because we really don't have that choice! TS had a choice that's the difference both could have played.

| And back to the point I was making before Leeds fans mentioned for the 1,000 time they had injuries
It wasn't a "selection headache" as in Smith picking players better then them, he just picked fitter ones.

| Does it really matter who Smith picked? In the end (and as predicted), they were just not up to it .... yet again.
I won't repeat what I called them last week in the build up but it's as true today as it was back then.
Another quality Smith post match Sky interview this week, what's that all about?
