| Without watching the game back , i actually thought it was the best ref performance of the season, he is by far the best man manager of players and it is not all about him

| Quote ="Caveman"Our game is getting softer by the year. There are shots that can be high that aren't a high shot, if that makes sense. There's FAR too many people (players and fans) complaining about high shots or overly aggressive tackles thee days when there's really nowt in them. I'd rather see games flow rather than stop for minuscule discrepancies.
There was one when Westwood smashed your young forward and Burrow and McShane ran in saying "he nearly took his head off". The replay was shown and it was a perfectly good tackle. Too many players has for their arms in the air shouting "HEY!" at the ref in this sport too. It's starting to frustrate me. People just need to get on with the game.
I don't think there was much lying on/holding down in the whole game. Although I do think he wasn't getting either side back the ten much. He was allowing ten or eleven men stand eight metres from the ptb and letting it go but pinging individuals (Wood and Peacock a few times each from memory) when they did it alone.
Other than that it wasn't a bad performance from the ref at all.'"
Nah. If its high it needs penalising, and anything above the shoulder should be a penalty in my opinion. There's the entire body to aim at, no need to hit around the head. It's nothing to do with being soft, anyone who thinks those players out there are somehow soft is seriously deluded. These players are absolutely miles bigger, faster and stronger than their predecessors and any with that comes a much higher risk of serious injury.

| Caveman-If yer reffering to the hit on Foster when he knocked on Westwood came in swinging high and a clear high tackle that started high and hit high.

| Quote ="partridge"Thought ref missed a few for both sides. Leeds missed a kicker and Warrington made errors that led to most Leeds tries as Leeds had pace from interceptions or dropped balls. Couldn't see a reason why he went to video ref for Hodgsons try but didnt hear what sky had to say. As for the Wanky Wire comment I will like to say we're not y anymore!
Without challenge cup this year now I've no doubt Leeds will be in Grand Final yet again'"
Only said in jest. Had fun singing that to your fans at OT and Wire signing We hate Rhinos. Good banter.

The Leeds player was behind the ball and ran in a straight line towards it. In the circumstances, whereas he can't deviate to get in Riley's path, neither is he obliged to get out of his way.
Besides which … since when was Riley guaranteed to tackle anyone?

| Mate he caught Ryan Hall from the opposite wing, yet couldn't get anywhere near a forward? It was blatant obstruction.

Have you watched it back? You are going to be embarrassed when you do. Surprised you say it anyway, as once they showed the replay in the ground many wire fans shut up. Riley was trying to hold back BJB. Had he concentrated on Sutcliffe holding the ball he might have got to him.

| Grabbing at the player in his way to shift him you mean.
I don't have sky so unless someone posts the game up i won't see it, but if my opinion changes i'll let you know, i only saw it once in real time and i remember thinking had he a clear run he'd have at least caught him.
I'll hold my hands up if i'm wrong though.

| 17 v 17, i've seen us beat teams full of stars with better players in every position, i've seen us lose to inferior teams. Nearly losing and not drawing is called winning no matter how you dress it up.

| Well at least Yed you have eventually posted something correct on this thread . I would also say it is what you get from the game in the long term as well that matters . Which side from Friday will get most from the game i will leave you to decide

| There are two sides to that argument, Leeds can say hey we played their main team with half ours missing and gave them a game, the future looks rosey and everything is right with the world.
Wire can say well we didn't turn up, played pants and took the two points regardless of a well below performance.
Wigan took a 'moral victory' against us, so in theory they learned a lot from that...then Cas beat them at home and then very nearly lost to Bradford a week later.
People can take what they want from any game but at the end of the day the only thing worth taking is the 2 points.

So if, ifs and buts were beer and nuts we'd all have a Happy Christmas.
I've been looking at the rules to determine the final result of a SL game. Can't find anywhere to suggest that a team with injuries will win the game no matter the result on the field. You played well, get over it. You've lost to worse sides than Warrington over the years. Remember you've won from 5th. That reminds me, must look at the McDermott out thread again.

| I think that's fair enough HY both sides will have a different take on the result and performance and IF the roles were reversed i'm sure we'd or at least most would have the same approach as you have.

| Hopefully a proper 'cracker' of a game awaits us at OT and we both have a full compliment of players, i've really grown to liking the Leeds fans and really don't understand the bad rep you get from Wigan/Saints/the rest of Yorkshire as fans, which is surprisingly refreshing considering your from the same place as Leeds Utd fans.
Lot of time for Leeds fans both during and after the Wembley and OT games

I'm afraid it is your bad. The players do not have to go back to the ref. The players have to go back 10m, the ref can go back as far as he wants. Don't worry, lots of supporters slag off the ref without knowing the rules.

| Mate, why was he pinging players for being in front one minute and not the next, he was just picking and choosing when to call it, i know the rules and i'm aware some prefer to drop to 11 and have the players sit in front of them, but they were quite clearly NOT ONSIDE

| No, i'm not turning this into a he was a 'home or away' ref, he was just equally turd and inconsistent.
The pyschology of spectating is you don't tend to look for your own teams infringements, when the opposition have the ball you tend to focus on the opposition and how you think they are going to open you up, whereas when we have the ball at the ptb you tend to look at how the defensive line is set up.

| As a person at the game, closer than you was, the line was constantly 8 back not 10, me and all the people around me could see it and rightly made noise about it, if my camera phone wasn't so crap i would have posted the evidence.

It was, and for both sides, much too narrow. The only time he didn't was the last set of the match, and you gained from it. So what's the problem?
