You got a point there G1 . They turned over Saints recently , but that Saints team wouldn't have beaten the second 13 from the local pensioners day centre . I still think they could sort us though.. Surely though they must be getting used to away days by now , so ain't really knocking them out of their stride .

Leeds were knocked out of the prestigious Challenge Cup at the first time of asking in a home tie and that has been a major factor in arriving at this point of the season in this position.

Had we signed a replacement he could have been inferior or superior but we'll never know because no such player was signed, until Pitts arrived as one for the near future.

Luckily the club's CEO was gracious enough to go public and admit the team had done it tough with an understrength squad this season particularly in the forwards, I think he drew particular attention to.

Yes. He was pandering top a disgruntled fan base at the time by appeasing them with some PR Guff. He didn't really mean it.

I don't recall the fan base being particularly disgruntled at the time he made the statement.

PR guff would dress it up into something it's not, rather than that it was an honest sounding appraisal of the forward position this season after the non appearance of a key off season signing.

I disagreed when he made the statement. I disagree now. We have plenty of depth in the pack. We topped the league by 4 points. How much forward depth do you need?

There remains zero evidence that yet more forwards added to the squad would've made ANY difference to the outcome of the WCC or the CC campaign.

Additional depth comes in handy if/when you stay in competitions past the first hurdle and/or lose multiple players with injuries and/or suspensions.



The evidence is that the squad assembled failed in both their early season target matches. It's impossible to say what difference (if any) Eastwood's availability would have made in those matches. It's equally impossible to say it would have made no difference either. We'll never know now.

Gleeson is going well, providing a vital two try contribution at the weekend, taking them to within eighty minutes of Old Trafford. An astute addition to the Wigan squad.

Pretty much what I believe as well. The extra pace that Leeds have will be a decidin factor, although don't expect a runaway victory if the play the ball's remain as slow as they have been throughout the play offs...
