Get more impressed with Leeming at halfback every time he plays there. He is a more than capable stand in for Gale. The downside is that Dwyer has to start and I agree he was poor tonight. Much prefer him coming off the bench.

I am not sure how to explain that performance. We were good in patches but still made plenty of mistakes which a team on form would counter on. Wigan are just in a very deep hole and it’s a long way out of that.

Morgan Gannon needs tying down to a new deal as a matter of urgency.

Gannon is a fabulous young talent his defensive effort and ability to stop players dead is very impressive for A young kid

Let's look at the context of the performance: Walker, Broadbent, Gale, Mik, Mellor, Koni and Sutty injured, we had just 12 players for 18 mins and 11 for 2, Leeming playing out of position (getting better at it each game) and Wigan nilled for 1st time in 31 years. No matter how crap Wigan are at the moment, that's something. Saints didn't nil them, though they almost did. It may be the bottle of wine, but I'm feeling quite optimistic for the play-offs...

A vital 2 points needed for our play off push always good too nil a opposition as well especially Wigan and in their own back yard as well. It wasn't the prettiest of wins but it'll do hopefully keep majority of our team fit now and secure a play off spot.

Great win ! Any win at Wigan is a great win - seen too many defeats there. The effort is there , but why do we make it so hard for ourselves . First 5 mins , kick into touch from kick off , and Tet should have been off - 10 mins minimum.
As already said - Dwyer great effort - terrible execution. Thought Luke B, Smith, Prior and Leeming were excellent , and Lui still has the touch of class that we need .
Major worry is Tet - we cant have him on this form and Bentley in the same team next year , or we`ll be playing with 11 men every week !!

Agree. And those who say it’s worst Wigan side ever, that Wigan team had plenty of top players in the 13. Bateman Farrell Hastings Gildart etc and Bibby who can score for fun. Considering the amount of players out for us and yet more disruption in the halves it was a fabulous effort.

Thought Tet was a bit unlucky with his yellow. I watched it back a couple of times. It was never a binning. Was a penalty no doubt as shouldn’t have jumped up but it wasn’t a bad high tackle at all.

Hes going to get banned for the hit on Bateman, however watching it back it wasn’t a shoulder to the head like i thought at the ground

Thing is we lost him for 10 mins on the field when we shouldn’t really, and the incident he should have been binned for might well end up in a 1-2 match ban.

If he’d have been binned for the head shot that might have been dealt with and done… anyway see what comes out of match review.

No it wasn’t a shoulder just the arm but yes he may do. Needs to cut it out. Think RL in general is trying to stop these hits, doing same in NRL.

On a separate note Martin has been playing reality well of late and did again last night.,was a great run to set up Myler. I’d be more than happy to see him play for another couple of years with us.

Id keep him too, think he’s playing well at the moment, I think we all might be underestimating how much Covid hit him, it can affect you for months.

What I really really like about this group of players is the commitment and passion they are showing you could see it when they came over to thank the fans last night.

Thought it was fascinating seeing Lam get interviewed before the game last night re Hardaker. Question was something along the lines of 'Hardaker said he wanted to be England's first choice fullback a the start of the season so how did you persuade him it was for the team's good to move him into the centres tonight?'. Was expecting a response along the lines of 'Well I'm the manager so I decide where people play' or similar but his response was 'Actually that was Zak's idea'. Really raised my eyebrows that. Lam then spoke about them being a 'rudderless ship' afterwards and to be fair they looked in complete disarray. Certainly seems like they're lacking some leadership on and off the field. Thought Field looked really poor at fullback too, quite pleased we dodged that one.

Ive missed nights like that these last 18 months. Outstanding effort by everyone including the Leeds fans last night. Absolutely brilliant to nil them on their own patch. Cant single anyone out, the whole team worked their nuts off for 80 mins and got what they deserved. The fans sung theirs off for 80 and got what they deserved too. It was great to be there last night.

On a seperate note when you look at the fixtures remaining why has everyone got same amount left as us yet weve played 3 and 4 more than them? Clubs are pleading poverty yet they are allowed fans in now and they arent playing games. Make Hull and KRnt play 4 in 14 days like they made us do which nearly broke our squad.

Totally agree. I find it a little bit galling that some are saying this is the worst Wigan side of all time. They are not. They are simply not coping with adversity ( the kind of adversity that Leeds have had to live with all season) very well. Anybody who thinks otherwise needs to check out the Wigan 2005 vintage. Not a very good year. It's worth remembering that despite our understandable clunkiness, we have picked up wins at Wigan, Warrington and Hull this year. That's progress.

Wigan are also not that much of a basket case in defence, they aren't leaking a lot of points, its just their attack which is dreadful.

Whilst it wasn't a game for the purist i enjoyed how we went about our performance. Our D was top notch & irrespective of what the pundits were saying about Wigan our D was the main reason we won that.
Once again Leeming was a major positive influence but how good is it having Prior back?
Also i thought Newmsn & Gannon easily outplayed their opposite numbers & although my criticism if T.Briscie has been clear all season last night he was quality on our left edge.
