That infuriates me so much the aimless kick to the air. That is all i will take away from this tour about Hastings which is quite sad considering the season he had over here.

Think it’s a myth that we’ve got a great pack. Bateman and Sam Burgess are truely world class. The rest are pretty ordinary now sadly. I agree will take 2-3 years before we see a competitive GB again.
Need to bring some youngsters through next season. Time for Graham, Hill to retire. Are Walmsley and Thompson good enough to take up the mantle? Didn’t look it from this tour sadly.

Whilst I agree some get over rated, Bateman is not truely world class, and the same as the others.

Our pack has always been our shining light. Currently though, we seem to lack something.

Our backs though are really poor when comparing to Southern Hemisphere country’s.

The last three tests we have looked absolutely joyless and robotic, no character, no nouse and no guile.

Handling has been atrocious and at this level players not catching simple passes or knocking on every other set is just putting us under the cosh far too often.

There are not many in this squad currently who look like they can manufacture an opportunity out of nothing.
Lomax has shown flashes, Thompson despite injury has looked dangerous, Bateman has been solid, but some of the regulars have stunk the place out. Some through over-trying, some from just out of form and picked on rep.

Bennett is treating the game here with contempt. He is an out and out winger, one of the top scorers in the league in an average team and he cant get a spot on the wing ahead of Blake Austin who's not a winger.... wow. Disgraceful

Do people seriously think Handley is a better player than Blake Austin? Austin made a couple of errors last week but he is a far superior player to our other options

Several players have/will fly to PNG and won’t play, you only play 17 players and there are considerably more in the squad

Flying as an existing squad member, who has been on tour for the whole time is one thing. Flying out for just one game, not being selected and having someone played miles out of position when you are fit and available, is insulting.

Yes several players that are already over there with the squad, flying a Winger out when we only have one fit one in the squad then not selecting him is pointless and insulting to the player

A GB squad with 1 fit winger, yes he warrants a go

It’s insulting to play a stand off who has no real experience of playing on the wing, in front of a winger who scored 22 tries there to laying for the 8th best team in the comp last year, especially when you’ve flown him half way around the world to tell him he’s not playing.

Is he good enough to play for GB? Well that’s a totally different question, and one you could ask of many of the current squad.

Agreed, he’s only just good enough for Super League, he shouldn’t be near the national side, we are so short of quality outside backs Bennett feels he has no choice but play players out of position

I think all that anyone is challenging is the absurdity of flying him over for the 9s then home, then back out to only not play him. Its neglegent.

I wouldnt have thought so. Your team manager is your logistics man, not a decision maker.

And on top of this fiasco, the only reason he was chosen over someone else was because he’s already had his vaccinations from when the knights went to PNG.
