| Personally I'd go with Sinfield at hooker and McGuire & Sutcliffe in the halves. I think it's the best option until Aiton returns rather than trying to shoe-horn BJB into the team. I think Hardaker showed again today that he's very important to the team at full back and I'd rather not disrupt that unless absolutely necessary.
I realise Sutcliffe is young and inexperienced but with Sinfield & McGuire alongside him he's not being thrown in on his own to take on the major halfback duties and it's an opportunity to give a promising youth player a lot of game time in his proper position.

Not really, he played there a lot today, just need the other three to step in on tackle 5 at dummy half.

That is nothing new - our kicking game isn't a particular strength of this team and never has been

| Whilst it is tempting to move players around to cope with Burrow out for a number of weeks.
I feel we should move Robbie Ward to hooker and keep the rest in their current place.
If we were to move players I would like to see Moon at SO with Briscoe to centre BJB on the wing.
Doubt that would happen.
Just a thought but what about McGuire to hooker instead of Sinfield?

| Got to argue with you there Sal at times over the last 10 years our kicking game has been terrific especially in big play off games were we have kept opposition sides penned in their half .

If you looked at this team's major skill sets - a top notch kicking game would not be high up the list. Yesterday how tries did we score from kicks?

| The long kicking game was ok, but as has been mentioned before on another thread the short kicking game with those little chips into the tryline were poor and we needed some with more height on or either a grubber
Think we managed to force some drop outs from our kicks so not all bad but could've been better.

& how many did they score?
Perhaps defences are improving to deal with such threats?
Our long kicking game plus our excellent chase was markedly better than Saints even with them having Luke Walsh who has to be one of, if not the best, tactical kicker currently in the superleague.
It was also built upon our generally better field position created by our old & underpowered pack.

Less of the stupid emoticons. The kicks were crap, the chase was good in the most part, until the players tired, but the kicks were poorly executed. You do understand the difference?

| The best two open play kickers in the side are Sinfield and Burrow.
If one is at dummy half and the other sat in the stands, both the long and short kicking games are going to suffer as a result.

Not just about your attacking kicks though.
It's about using your kicking game to change field position. Something Sinfield in particularly has done well in big games for Leeds.

At some point in the next couple of years, Hardaker and/or Sutcliffe are going to be our main attacking kickers. It'll be interesting and probably beneficial to have a preview of this.

| The only time Burrow has had a lengthy injury absence was in the middle of the 2010 season when he missed nine straight, came back too soon to play one from the bench and then missed the following two with a minor re-occurrence.
Expect to read something akin to the following report in the YEP:
Burrow aims for a speedy return to action
12th May 2010 (Edit - 28th April 2014)
[iInjured half-back Rob Burrow has pledged to beat a three-month deadline for his return to Leeds Rhinos action. Medics expect Burrow, to be sidelined for up to 12 weeks after he broke his collar bone in the Challenge Cup win over St Helens on Saturday. "The physio staff are going to do a lot of re-hab with me and hopefully I can get back sooner than expected.” The England man is confident he’ll be straight back to business when the damage finally heals. “I’m hoping so,” he said. “I’ve had a word with our conditioner Jason Davidson and if it means working really, really hard, then I’ll do that. I don’t want to come back flat and then take three or four games to get back into it. I want to be all right hopefully first game and certainly second game, but that’s up to me. At least I’ll be fresh for the business end, so that’s a benefit. I should be finishing the year with plenty of petrol in the tank. It is frustrating – the grounds are drying up and summer rugby is coming and that suits me. I was happy with the way I was going as well, so it’s annoying. I’m not really used to long-term injuries, I’ve been fortunate in that regard, but it happens. You’ve just got to stay positive and cheer the lads on. We are blessed with people who can play in that position,” he said. “Danny and Kev can both play there so there’s no problems. Thankfully, we can have four or five injuries and there’s players who can step up and do equally as good a job. Most clubs don’t have that, but we’re lucky to have a great, strong squad.”[/i

Or the scrum half and stand off who take over. May well get another hooker in the McShane mould of kicking, who knows.

What a pile of e
We got loads of hang time on the Blue Ball kicks which allowed our chasers to put the catchers under pressure.
Just reviewed our first half kicking game
10 kicks out of hand.
5 short kicks in to in-goal
5 downtown kicks all made great height with great kick chases
7 REPEAT SETS IN THE FIRST HALF = 2 SCORES OF KICK SUCCESSES. 68% POSSESSION.
Our real weakness first half was ball control 5 handling errors including 3 passes to touch.
Our goal line defence was immense and our kick return game was huge. The back 3 running the ball back and the front row dominated the rucks.
WILL ADD SECOND HALF REVIEW LATER

It was "just a thought" and it seems Burrow thinks the same as he qoutes that both Sinfield and McGuire can cover his position.
Now he might be referring to SH but Burrow plays hooker right?
