Taupau would be amazing for any club in SL or NRL. He has a year left on his Tigers deal, would be amazed if anyone at Ashfield signs off on letting him out of it.
Dave Taylor as a player is a dead set oxygen thief. All the talent in the world! Lazy, unmotivated lump. Looks like Tarzan plays like Jane! I will pi$$ myself if he signs for Salford.
Ben Barba is a guy who I can see in SL as he is total garbage and hanging on by a thread to his NRL career based on the hope he may recapture 1% of his Dally M form. No way is he a marquee NRL player.

reports in aus are kockrash is going all out to sign paul gallen great player in his day but this could be a season to long for him and his dodgey hip. he only wanted to sign a 1 year deal with the sharks so would be surprised if its anything more than a 1/2 year deal IF HE did sign for salford

| I'm in Aus and not hearing those reports. I listen pretty closely. That doesn't mean $hit in terms of if it's happening or not. But it's not been in the media. The last I heard on Sunday NRL was he wanted another year in Aus. If the Sharks don't want him at his price Manly was tossed up as an option for a year before SL.

Well indeed. Given they left Puletua sat in the stands for most of the season when they were begging for some leadership in the forwards, it hardly screams of a club that puts much thought into its recruitment.

| Sam rapari to hudds. Rumor of two big name props to Salford from NRL. Some appear to be wetting themselves at the prospect of signing a halfback from NRL. Without greatly strengthening the forwards especially with losing peacock it doesn't matter who we have as half back they will be playing behind a beaten pack every week. The lack of recruitment over past seasons has never been a massive issue, this year we need to be digging into the check book, mullaly on his own isn't going to cut the mustard

I am going to repeat yet again. I don't dispute not needing a prop. However, our current halfs are beaten most weeks anyway, despite a team with Peacock, and despite nearly every week those forwards making more metres than the opposition. So why anyone would think just a prop will be the miracle cure I do not know.

I don't I think we need a quality prop, a quality SR and a half back. But the longer this goes on the more concerned I get that Mullaly and maybe another non inspiring signing will be our lot

I take your point but remove peacock from that pack and it might no longer out-metre the opposition quite so often. So while I wouldn't see any prop as a miracle cure I do think JP's retirement will leave us weaker unless it's mitigated.

I think we need a quality halfback and quality prop for reasons previously stated but I agree things are slipping and GH needs to get on with it?

Peacock hasn't even been our best prop this year. He does however add other qualities, as stated before, that your normal out and out prop doesn't give. Hence why backrowers have also been spoken of.
We need an overhall, and a prop on it's own isn't going to change that.

I would say lack of recruitment at the end of last season was appalling. kylie was about finished, loved watching him but it's painful nowadays. so slow. JJB spent long periods injured. the backs were fine. had a couple of forwards been signed the transition would have been less severe. as it is we need two quality props and a top second row.finding them is a problem, although other clubs seem to find them
when someone like mitch achurch is a first team regular you know you have problems

I've said elsewhere I'm not too concerned for this year...SL standards are poor and subject to all teams' various injuries at any given time the Leeds first 17 (especially back 5) has a good a chance as any on the day. No one team this year has been consistently worringly good. All the 'favourites' have lost unexpectedly or being soundly thrashed (Wigan at Cats).
However, with the loss of the first choice no.8, no.10 and captain/goalkicker at year's end plus - as you say - the worringly frequent long spells out for JJB/Delaney and even Achurch there are some mighty big holes to fill.
We are indeed apparently in for a torrid 2016 unless some big name signings are announced pretty soon.
Leaving it for much longer will guarantee some far from inspiring/second rate signings.

| Whoever mentioned Barba needs to look at the 2015 (and 2014) version, not the best player in the competition version from a few years ago. He's lost his pace and with it basically his entire game. If it weren't for his name and the continuing hope that he somehow regains his 2012 form he wouldn't even be in the NRL.

| I think the next 2 games against Hull are vital for our season and it'll be a huge blow to be knocked out of CC. I hope GH has got something good up his sleeve to placate us with in looking forward to in 2016?

Six carries. The lowest of any Huddersfield forward apart from Kruise Leeming.

| looking for a kicker, go watch young Lilley on dual reg at Hunslet quality against Halifax this week. Watched him at doncaster pre-season and he was the same perhaps he needs a run in the squad. Only young I know but i remember others making their mark.
