| We looked flat and off the pace, Warrington were very good (they are/will be real contenders at the business end), but we made them look good too. Way too many errors and nothing sticking/nothing clicking...bad day at the office, that's sport. Let's see how well we bounce back against our recent 'bogey' team - Huddersfield

| Why are you all on about how the last time Child reffed for you, there was "that incident" with Hardaker?
Are you suggesting it was undeserved punishment?

I said Thaler was by far the best in the league. I said Child would be second, ahead of the completely awful Silverwood and Bentham. So I think you are playing it a bit, to make out I was referring to him as anything good. Despite my feelings on Silverwood and Bentham, in 37 years of watching the game I have never seen a worse ref than Hicks, so I completely ignore him from any discussion. Hopefully that lad might improve too like Child has over the years.

| Due to the fact you haven't had child as a ref for 12 months the rest of us have had to suffer him more. Just read the YEP less than flattering comments about him. Hudds have had to put up with him more than most. He is truly shocking, and win or lose much of the talk after the game has been about child and not what the players did- that tells its own story. it's about time you lot had to put up with it again - long may it continue- just as long as it's not next week!!!!

Think Huddersfield will win this match...but Leeds will bounce back and beat you in the CC of course.

| Just looked at the stats from the game, and it just goes to show they never tell the full story.
I don't think there's too much to be concerned about, but it is frustrating that despite losing against Warrington earlier in the season we still weren't at the races mentally.
As has been said, our line speed and technique in the tackle looked very jaded and lackluster and I expect Leeds to address this but you do wonder whether the long minutes our forwards have played is catching up to us.
I'm not too concerned about our errors, with the style of play we have you're always going to have days like yesterday where nothing comes off and the opposition play a near perfect game.

| While child's is a very poor ref he in no way cost us the game. You just have to hold you hands up and say the best side won. My main concern was the bench last night. I know we were the same at sts but I just can't see burrow and sinfield on the same bench just makes us too light weight. Add to that a very good prospect who was never given a chance and a wide running second row used more in the middle which he doesn't seem to be able to do. Not enough rotation for the forwards. I can see the argument some used last year In tight games not using inexperienced players but last night we were never in the game and I cannot understand the criminal underuse of Mulbern.
A few weeks ago there was a debate about JJB couldn't get back in the team, well for me comes straight back in for Delaney. A shadow of his former self this year

My view would be he didn't pull things that he clearly should have done.

| no arguments or complaints from me as imo that would be pedantic to churn out the usual things that go against sides that lose
the truth is that the best team won and warrington will definitely be a team that we or any other side for that matter will have to beat to win any silverware this season
although im sure we will be able to learn from it and deliver the goods when the big games come around
as a side note,i would love to have stefan ratchford in our side and he would be great at 7 alongside sutty

I agree, the third, fourth Leeds player flopping and slowing the play the ball down was never addressed.

| Friday night left me feeling empty to be honest. We were beaten quite easily in most departments. Our forwards were bullied, they looked lightweight compared to Wire, and lacked any sort of nasty edge that is sometimes required in certain fixtures. Our kicking game was very, very ordinary, something that has worried me for years, even when we have been winning things. Wire seemed better able to adapt to child's "slim" 10 metres, and their clever wrestle technique was allowed to kill momentum. We have not had the rub regarding refs calls all season, but It would be wrong to blame our defeat too much on a couple of bad calls, Wire were the best team in all aspects. Next week is a time to jump straight back on the horse and show everyone why we are 4 points clear. It is also time to get a little more nasty up front, that is the way Huddersfield will be, and it may be need more aggressive intent from our forwards to lay down a marker for the rest of the season.

Well said, No massive post mortem needed. we played bad across the park, Wire played well across the park and did a job on us, its how it goes.We did the same to Saints last week but they will be there abouts come season end and so will we.
I still don't think we have put in a full 80 minutes performance up to our full potential and yet we sit clear at the top with only 2 defeats. Obviously we all expect a response at Huddersfield next game, and im sure the lads will be just as determined to do just that so its over to them.

Like leeds owl says, unless we have significant improvement in our kicking game (that includes conversion kicking in addition to down towners) then I fear the worst next week; mainly because we are more than likely to lose the collision to a more physical and in form Shudderfield.

| We never looked like winning that game and although 2 losses in 12 and sitting 4pts clear are very positive signs the next couple of games or so will show whether it was just a blip or not.
We were pretty poor all across the park and i include the Coach the interchange didn't work and once again we were shown to be lacking any kind of plan B.
Thursday is a big game we face another big pack & a Half back with a quality kicking game i'd hope to see 100% improvement especially in defence.
Onwards and upwards.

| So by the look of it, Yates was left out so he could get some game time with Hunslet this afternoon. WT actual F?
Looks like stopping Hunslet getting relegated back to Championship One now takes priority.

Yates has done nothing to warrant a place yet anyway, so Hunslet best place for him.

| Enthusiasm and organisation. We lacked both and Warrington had both in bucket loads. Particularly in that period when they went 14-0 up. After that it was just panic mode from us and trying to throw the ball around and make something special happen every set.
Said I'd go for Sinfield to start and how we missed him. I'm with Gotcha, Sinfield on at the start wouldn't have provided us with anything special play-wise but he'd have had us better organised than we were for that period when they opened up the 14-0 lead. Once he came on the horse had bolted plus tired bodies meant it was too late even for him to turn minds and attitudes around.
Don't think Child had a bad game in terms of decisions but again he oversaw a game that threatened to boil over and became bad tempered. McGuire shouldn't have been allowed to talk to him the way he did late on but Child let him and from early on the Leeds players seemed to have a problem with him (and you can't just say it's because we were losing, because I don't recall the same stuff happening at the HJ when Bentham reffed and didn't give us much).......looks very much like Child reffed matches for us in the near future will take on a similar pattern to Friday and to when Silverwood reffed us for the next few years after that WCC game when the players seemed frustrated and annoyed by the ref from minute 1. The players relationship with Silverwood has improved from a few years back (I think the departures of Senior and Webb helped a lot).....we can't stick our bottom lip out everytime Child refs us though.

You wonder whether there's something of a grudge towards Child from the players following last year's Hardaker incident and what he did or didn't put in his report.
