| why on earth would we want a player who walked out on fev half way through the season and then fails to turn up for pre season training at wakey. i know they said that it is administration details but really i think there is more to it than that

| Even though I am a wakey fan, I would much rather be linked with Willie Isa as you are then have signed JJP. Nowt against JJP but I am glad the deal has fallen through. Hopefully wakey can now give a young english lad a chance

| what an absolute mug this guy is. He left fev high & dry half way through last year when he & fev were doing well, got himself a SL contract sorted, now hasn't turned up. If he problems in PNG then I'm sure theres ways of communicating..

| Bit unfair on the lad. He left Fev to return home as his son was very ill with malaria. His visa request was turned down despite best efforts, something to do with the ammount of first class games he played. I understand that he is a good bloke who worked hard on his game whist at Fev and also was always on hand to work with their community department. So all in all a hard working, community spirited family man. I wish him luck.

| He did go home to be with his sick son, Just after he had signed for Wakefield. Is son was well again within 2 weeks and Fev told him is services would not be required. It was also mentioned at the time that this would leave him ineligible for a visa due to lack of game time.

| Please, you have the current England Academy centre scoring in both tests v the Aussies, i really hope the club gives him more opportunities than signing third rate overseas players.

I'd like to hear how you've formed that opinion. In the games I saw him play for Fev he was always amongst the top two or three players on the field, and had a virtual try per game scoring ratio. He also lost only lost out on NRL contracts with St.George-Illawarra and North Queensland Cowboys due to Visa problems.
Sh*te player, I think not.

So you and the Cas crystal ball brigade have seen him play enough games to judge him properly, well of course you have.... not.
I don't know if JJP had a future in the game and neither do you, hearsay and speculation are not a sound way to judge a player. What's for certain is he doesn't know an opportunity to prove his worth when he sees it, which is a shame.

| Jessie Joe Parker - Potentially a very good centre, he could and should have been the best centre in the Championship last season. Obviously his time was cut short due to his sons illness.
He was great with the ball in hand and had that little bit of flair that would win that close match.
However his pace was lacking even at the Championship level and his general attitude to me seemed poor of somebody who should be wanting to earn the right to play in competition be it Super League or Championship.
His agent mid-season penned him a contract at Wakefield (allegedly) and with his son 'ill' the best decision was him to go back home and not go back again. Good decision Fev.
Now myself and a vast majority of Fev Fans would agree that he wouldn't cut the mustard in the Super League, if he was going to sign a deal at a Super League team, it would be one of the weaker sides (no offence to Wakefield.)
Would I have him back at Fev? No. We got the chance to bring through a youngster who tried his best and did okay in his first season. Should you sign him? No! Your so much better than that. You'd be better off spending that 30k on his wages/flights/accommodation on bringing through your academy.
Good lad in person, can't knock him for that. But was hoping he'd sign for Wakefield then I could really see if I would be wrong.

Thanks for the honest assessment, maybe our esteemed friend from the Wakefield forum should take note.

jjp will not make it as a successful sl player,he would though make it into a sl side that wanted a cheap overseas option rather than promoting one of their own academy players,no great surprise in which sl side wanted to take the cheap option yet again this close season eh vasty?
