A big well done to Siddal. They won the Conference Grand Final 42v4 against Leigh MR at the weekend. The top amateur team in the country and great ambassadors for the sport in Halifax.

Pete, I was at the game yesterday, Siddal played the Miners off the park in every dept , though I have to say it's the worst display I've seen from Miners, however Siddal fully deserved the win, it was over as a contest at half time.

Why is it HRLFC cannot make greater efforts to integrate with them, there is obviously some outstanding talent in their squad, are none of them able to make the transition into semi pro ranks ?, or are the 'Fax once again blinkered to home grown talent?, or is there still some bad blood between the two, (who are hardly more than a stones throw away).

Maybe we could go duel reg with them, although how many of the current pros would get a game in siddals colours?

I know a few of the lads who have come through Siddal's youth set up and they are at Wigan, Salford, Huddersfield ......... they go to the SL Academies to try their luck there.

RM and Scott are trying to get all local lads to link up with Fax but it is difficult when the SL clubs come calling with all the promises of success and stardom.

Yes I believe a large number of the Under 15's side are signed up at SL clubs and we have nothing to offer at that level. What we may end up with are the ones that get dropped, usually a very high proportion, but obviously not the creme de la creme. That's how the game is im afraid, I'm sure the other amateur clubs have a similar story to tell.

Unfortunately so do the championship clubs. My friends lad has signed on for the bulls. He's only 14 and had trials I believe at Wigan Leeds Cas and the bulls but not Fax. Former fax ball boy too. Hes Highley rated at his level.
Fax seriously need to up there game and get these young lads playing for their home town
