For the fairweather that hasn't attended many RL games, and is thinking of doing so, the Bulls have a strong presence in their local press while we have to rely on Social Media.

Does anyone want to start up a new Halifax News website/printing press and drive this shabby newspaper out of the area?

Pathetic is the right word. The paper itself is rubbish and hardly merits being called a newspaper. I haven't bought one since the first edition of the new format when all the 'news' in it was about seven days old. The loss of the daily paper published in Halifax, was a bad day for our sports teams as was the demise of the Green Final. The Grove, shudds. Harvey's Sussex Wild Hop, 3.7% Mmm!

Yesterday's Courier has three excellent pages on last weeks game and tomorrow's.
Don't want to spend a £1?
Simple, do what I do, pop into your local super market, pick up a courier take it to the cafe, read it and replace it as you leave.
It's also handy to see if your in the obituaries.



Most Monday mornings I can be found in Morrisons reading League express.
If your really tight you could take your own coffee.

It is depressing what has happened to our local newspaper though its a sign of the times of printed media. There is no investigative journalism, little fact checking and limited proof reading. I would say however that the sport coverage is excellent for both teams (regardless of the website) with good articles, Dave Flemming's article is always worth a read and the good access given to the manager/coach and players is great.

I am not sure if there is a demand for another printed local newspaper but there is certainly room for an alternative online source.
