From what I have heard from reliable sources Des Johnston was well within his rights to question certain decisions regarding Mondays game. My sources maybe wrong & I don't entirely agree with Chairmen getting involved with team selection but Players in Form and who are scoring week in week out shouldn't be dropped in a must win game - Im sure you will agree. Win on Monday and we have the luxury of being Minor Premiers and are able to rest out entire 1st team in preparation for a Home tie in the Play-offs.

Its a shame Deakin has gone as I thought he was doing a decent job, But the show must go on

I honestly thought this thread was a joke. I can only imagine a 'high profile' coach has become available. On one hand who'd want that job now? On the other hand, whoever takes over won't be resting on their laurels. Will be interesting to see how it all pans out in the next couple of seasons.

Des the Mess is a passionate man and expects alot. Tha t I have no problem with. However he seems to be a big baby who only wants things his way and if not will throw a wobbly. Not sure thats a recipe for success for Barrow or anybody. You compare the way the board Widnes quietly go about their business and Halifax compared to this Tyrant who runs Barrow who seems to love to be the centre of attention and thinks money can buy success and get in to SL. Des the Mess should look at how to conduct himself and be Professional. I can only see this ending in tears for Barrow in the future when they do not get in to SL in 2012

Well it would not be like Rhino if he does ,can`t agree that he would do it for the money either he has turned down jobs in the past that were decent pay.

Not suggesting that he would coach Barrow or that he would be motivated by the finance just stating that money talks. I only highlighted Rhino cos there was talk of him being offered the job previously. As far as i know he is staying at Batley and i hope he does for now anyway

I cannot stand interferring Chairmen, yes they have a job to do and can 'have a say' but leave the team affairs to the coach and don't try pick the team.
I really hope this backfires on him and Barrow.

I think a lot of coaches might be put off working for Des after this. Sure he has money to spend on the team, but if he has a my way or the highway attitude the jobs not going to appeal. Maybe they should bring back Peter Roe !

I've been told it was Deakin who was at fault here, but things go on at every club including yours, He may have been at fault, it may have been Des, we dont know.......but in your book he'd be hung drawn & quartered.

Point here is that Des has a big gob and its not doing the club any benefit irrespective of blame. If he switched his brain on before he spoke, stayed in the background more then Barrow would get more of the credit they deserve for their performance this season. Its as if he is jealous of the club getting a bigger profile than him
