Stuff Leigh and drive another nail into their survival bid.

It`s quotes like this and the ones about Hobson that could turn out to bite us on the behind. We all want to win this match but I for one do not want to send a club down who have a decent away following . We need to win this to ensure a decent place for the playoffs let Leigh find their own level.

I want them to stay up for a few reasons...

1. More revenue for Fax. They bring more fans to the shay than gateshead. The league away support is bad enough with Haven, Batley, Donny, Gateshead, Sheffield and Toulouse bringing next to nobody, even Fev's support has been minimal at times.

2. Apart from the odd one or two their fans are good for a laugh..

3. Their stadium and facilities are better than half the drivvel in our league.

Leigh have a great set of fans, (which can be said more so than some of ours), who travel to support their team. They are also knowledgeable about the game, and you get great banter with them.

The team may have gone off the boil this season, (lukewarm maybe), but we have always had passionate games against them. Don't forget how many Leythers have come through the Halifax ranks as well.

Personally i wouldnt mind if Gateshead went down because...

I dont like the fact they can play as many as Aussies as RFL let them, its a ridiculous state of play and devalues the competition in my eyes, its not honest.
and
Its a longer drive than Leigh, and theres no atmosphere when you get there.

I think thats probably 3 but nevermind...

We need Leigh, Halifax and Widnes all strong in our comp. to prove what a farce franchises are.

Personally, I think you may be wrong with the final one. I think that the RFL needs Toulouse to hang in there, so that they can award them with a franchise, to prove how good they are!

Yes there are ' issues ' with certain clubs , but as long as we still consider ourselves a sport , then the rules are there at the start and everyclub should abide by them

I prefer leigh stay up for the derbies and away support.Fed up of too many aussies at gateshead and we need a strong competitive halifax,widnes and leigh next year.Yes i not like leigh but it all banter and bring decent support not like gateshead aussies.Will they lose their visas?

This has relit my faith in what this board was about,arguing,banter with the odd nutter now and again..Nasty comments have no place on here,we should all be RL fans who love our clubs but realize at the end of the day we are all in the same boat.

If we go down I'll be gutted but it won't be the end of the world,I'll still carry on watching Leigh home and away and still think refs hate us and the RFL could not organise a pee up in a brewery and of course I live on the side of the Pennines that is the best on most levels, you lot do have more sheep though.

Yes we have had a disaster of a season ..........and as a Leigh fan ( and always will be ) even when i die.........i will be spreading the word from above,

one bad season we have had, but its not the end of the world we will bounce back stronger,

i don't want us to be relegated.

but hey happens, and that's what's happened this year

but we will be back, nothing more certain,

You are right. Just sad that on many occasions (e.g. franchises) Rugby League cannot follow its own rules when it does not suit the power bloc.

I wouldn't mind Gateshead trading places with Keighley. We'd almost have a local derby then! (and they don't moan as much)

i want leigh to stay up because like people have said they bring some fans to the shay.

at the same time though they stay up thats another challenger for the franchise place.

if they go down they wont have enough time to tick enough boxes.

i like leigh so i guess i want them to stay up.
