Excuse my ignorance, pls explain club 1873 ?

On November the 6th 1873, our great club was founded. Beyong that, i guess it's a sponsors club or something.

No not for sponsors anyone can and would be welcome to join ,go and see Neil in the South Stand bar any match day. You just pay £10 I think for the season (some pay it weekly , some all at once) and then every home match there is a draw from the members I think there are 3 prizes. You would be helping the club no end if you joined Neil has raised a massive amount with doing this.

If Neil were to post what it is all about, I'll make it a sticky.

I am a member of this every year and its a great chance of suporting the club and the chnce to win some great prizes. This is just 1 of the many great things that Neil Arber does for our club Ive got big respect for the Man.

This replaced the members bar about 4 years ago when the bar became a public bar on match days. It is similar to a 100 Club but quite rightly is named after the year Halifax RLFC was formed. Before the start of each season I send out letters to present members inviting them to rejoin and also advertise for new members. The cost is £10 which can be paid in one lump sum or whatever amount you want to pay as and when you are in the bar as long as the full amount is paid before the final league game. I am in the bar every match day to collect renewals, sign up new members or take any payments. As an added incentive when you join/rejoin you get 2 free raffle tickets for the beer raffle which I also do after every game.
You are allocated a number and every LEAGUE match 2 numbers are drawn out, 1st for £25 and 2nd £20 vouchers for the Club shop. The prize for the final league match is a season ticket for the following year. This year we have 115 members. You do not need to be in the bar when the draw is made as all prizes are sent on if not present and a full list of the season winners are also sent out and updated winners lists are displayed in the bar during the season.
