My thoughts too. We were a top championship club in the days of licensing. Now, with parachute payments and a lesser salary cap, we don't even hold out much hope of keeping hold of our best players. Unless someone drops a wad of hard cash through the letter box and some serious marketing to improve crowds occurs, were in for some long hard seasons.

You're definitely right though, if I was owner I'd be dodging super league and all the cost that would entail - maybe the reason for buying the shay was to generate income for super league and why it's all gone quiet now...

I have to think that is a certainty. It's why I fear for Leigh and other clubs that don't own their own ground and that don't have a huge benefactor. It's one of the first wishes that Koukash had when he took over Salford and he's still aiming to own a stadium.

Just going off this post but why havnt Halifax got a tv station like this? I have to pay Leigh £3.50 to watch the video when I should be paying it to our club.

£32 quid for the year, could Halifax not get 100 to subscribe to something like this? Get someone to make the website for free advertising and it really wont cost the club much more than time.

I think there is very likely to be some suspensions coming our way from yesterday so the damage isn't only limited to that game.

If a couple from our pack have to sit a game or two out it may cost us.
Robbo is still a few weeks off and will need to get some fitness back again even when he is cleared to play and apart from young Sam Brookes we haven't got a lot of cover.

Agree with this absolutly and we havn`t even mentioned how much of a lift the "water carrier " and physio were to their team .He was constantly coming on doing nothing only coaching , physio too coming on to give some of the lads a breather .It`s all part of gamesmanship and we may not like it but you have to have a plan to overide it , the water carrier was shameless , he didn`t care when he was told re` his behaviour by people on the touchline.These are all things that go on in games unfortunatly
Our lads looked a bit shellshocked second half `cos they were stopped from playing ,there were at least 2 of Leighs tries should never have been given but at the end of the day you just have to get stuck in and deal with it .I was disapointed yesterday as I saw quite a few of past supporters who came along that I havn`t seen for a while I hope it hasn`t put them off.

I said at the time, two minutes to go before half time, on the last tackle go for the one pointer. 25v0 at half time and we would not have lost that game.

Been racking my brains and don't think I have ever come away from the Shay feeling so let down, disapointed and quite frankly ripped off, possibily the worst £15 I have spent in a long time.

Looking through this conversation we blame Sam Barlow starting bother, Tommy & his gang been idiots in the south stand and the referee's poor decisions, which are all quite frankly true, but they did not miss the tackles or give the game away - credit to leigh, fantastic effort.

I share a similar feeling to most fans that KH is a club legend and a great bloke, but not the right man no more, apart from some strange decisions he still not to blame for yesterday, some of the players are.

Several good performances from the normal blokes, Ambler, Fieldy, Brackek, Tyrer, divo & Manning but the rest were very poor and dont look anywhere near fit enough, really cant see what anyone see's in Callum Casey, why does he keep getting a game?

Debating spending my £15 money elsewhere from now on as apart from loyalty nothing brings me back week in, week out.

I thought Tommy Saxton put in a really good shift and was lucky to come away with both ears left on with some of the treatment he was getting.

Potts didn't get much of a chance to run but looked strong even against their forwards when he came inside to take the ball up, they struggled to get him down.

Agree with Casey, I want him to do well but just doesn't have enough impact for me.
Might have been better moving Heaton up into the forwards from the bench instead of Casey and giving Rettie a game in the backs.
Always wise after the event of course.

Waste of £15?
Come on it was terrific entertainment although hugely disappointing as a Fax fan obviously but it had it all, one team ripping it up one half then the other the second half with a sending off, two fights and 4 sin binning's, what more do you want (Fax winning apart)?
We were competing with a team built by spending big bucks and could have beaten them with a bit more luck and composure.
Don't confuse a bad result with a poor game please.

How many head tackles did Tonks perform ,more than a few ,a really enjoyable second half from my team ,but a poor first half ,we were ripped to pieces, also pleased to see Baby Fieldhouse given a bit of his own medicine after Armstrong scored to put us in the lead, after his childish antics when scoring in the first half got what He deserved.

I think the Leythers are making a big deal out of Ryan Fieldhouses gesture, ill advised as it was and not something I want to see from any player but its not like Ryan, maybe its his Leigh connections?
Anyway it was not that bad come on.

how many head shots did tonks do?! about a tenth of the total number of punches/swinging arms the whole leigh team dished out throughout the whole game. there'll be some black eyes in our dressing room after that game for sure. dirty play

Big Karls comments made me laugh , Barlow deserved to be sin-binned Bracek didn't , Acton deserved to be sin-binned ,Tonks didn't , Barlow deserved to be sent off but it helped Leigh

The lad near the mini bus wasn't Tommy he was smacked in the face just as he was leaving the ground , he's loud very loud but he doesnt go fighting he's always too drink to fight.
Been told yesterday that Tommys son who was with him was set upon at the end by some fax fans and one of his gang went to help and also got thumped, however he told me he hit the lad back, I said your always better walking away from bother..........

Superb comments, as I have said Fieldhouse was out of order, silly, Fax fans goading Sam with whats the score silly, they goad him and he gets sent, of job done, because Leigh win he is the villain, had Fax won we wouldn't be mentioning it.
A great game, our frustration is nothing to do with Leigh beating us its more deep rooted than that.

To be honest I think Tommy was so hammered he would have struggled to find his backside, never mind through a punch.
On the game I have to say that we played just about the dumbest 2nd half on record. Did the coach speak to them at half time or not, if not, why not?
Surely that's his job, he should be in a position to be flexible depending on what happens on the pitch, why was not telling them to keep out of the biff considering we'd already had 2 in the bin.
Also commented that we should have taken appoint to go 25 up, but that would take some sort of thought process.
Try wise, yes massive forward pass but Fieldhouse should have sorted it and nothing wrong with the knock on except why didn't we just drop on the ball.

Frustrated of Halifax.

Just watching the game back after my donation to Leigh and so far we are totally dominating. Barlow has just come on and his tackle on Bracek looks like it should be a straight red to me. First vieweing it looks high but watching it over and over it looks high stiff and Bracek`s head whipps back making it look pretty viscious. Lucky to only get yellow in my opinion.

Next tackle in the Leigh number 31 looks like he gouges Divorty near his eyes.

Also when Mennell breaks through after the sin binning Mcnally hits him late and with a shoulder that could have had a big impact on the game.

The Tonka sinbinning should have been our penalty for the leigh player going back in to the tackle and grabbing Tonks around his head.

As has been said Barlow is slightly offside for his try.

Got to the second half and I find myself fuming again. The forward pass is so far forward I have no idea how its not spotted but first off is the Barlow sending off which is just a total disgrace. The man is not right in his head.

First off he runs in to our line and fights with Dane Manning so straight away it should have been a penalty there for obstruction. Next up we have the `knock on` which leads to the try and i have to say on viewing it that it looks totally fine and is play on but when Heaton goes to pick the ball up and the Leigh player regathers and passes it Barlow runs over and swings at Heaton which again should be a penalty and sending off and then he fights with Potts.

The try should never have stood and leigh should have been down to 12 men. This is easily one of the worst refereeing performances i have seen at this level. Yes we blew a 24 point lead but some of the decisions were awful and KH has a right to go mad over them.

We must have a difference of a opinion on a good game then







For a neutral, probably a good game but watching my team concede 36 unanswered points is not acceptable.

Although I agree, we are competing with a team built by spending big bucks, we are Halifax RLFC... we are massive and should not only be competing, but we should be beating teams like Leigh at home when 24 - 0 up.

No confusion unfortunately, a bad result is always poor game in my opinion.
