I think a lot of coaches might be put off working for Des after this. Sure he has money to spend on the team, but if he has a my way or the highway attitude the jobs not going to appeal. Maybe they should bring back Peter Roe !

I've been told it was Deakin who was at fault here, but things go on at every club including yours, He may have been at fault, it may have been Des, we dont know.......but in your book he'd be hung drawn & quartered.

Point here is that Des has a big gob and its not doing the club any benefit irrespective of blame. If he switched his brain on before he spoke, stayed in the background more then Barrow would get more of the credit they deserve for their performance this season. Its as if he is jealous of the club getting a bigger profile than him

Without any facts you are talking a load of old Tripe. I have heard a couple of things from very reliable sources that point to Deakin being on a power trip. He was reigned in and didn't like it apparently. Whether it is true or not, we probably wont find out. On the other hand Des could have come out and said " We are the best in the League by a Country Mile" - What type of goon would come out with a comment like that I wonder ?

We don't know the full fact about what went on, so its difficult to comment. However the strange thing is that no Barrow supporter is taking Deakins side which somehow seems strange, a coach comes in does a great job takes them to the top of the league, looking very much that they will finish top, and no Barrow fan is saying the chairman is wrong!
Maybe they are all abit scared of what might happen,if they show a bit of discontent towards him, they have come a long way on the back of his money. Also many are happy that Dave Clark is back in charge, even thou 2 months ago stating that he had brought them as far as he could.
It seems strange that they changed their coach in the first play but to change them back again in such a short space, is somewhat stranger. For something like that to happen, they must be a little more to it then at first appears.

Deakin had dropped Nixon and Rooney for not attending full training, aswell as dropping Young and Macdermott to the reserves. However, despite missing training, the oldham players got picked ahead of them 4. Des didnt like. Rumour also suggests deaking insulted one of the players and a serious occurance took place.

Thats pretty much the same info I heard Feka , and the one of those 4 that was insulted would be the last person I'd want to insult from that list.

Halifax are of course the club who effectively sacked their coach after he took them to promotion in 1991.

Everybody is aware of this as Peter Roe has mentioned it publically at least once every year since.
