You won't be able to find this information anywhere as its not been published but someone I know at the club has told me that Chris Riley is on trial and is training with us over preseason with a vision to earning a contract.

Chris played at Warrington at the same time as when Richard Marshall was there.

Any thoughts?

I like Riley, think can be a bit hit and miss at times but always seems to put in plenty of work and has scored a lot of points when at Wire, not really sure when they dropped him but would be more than solid for us.
As stated RM knows him and if he didn't think he was half decent wouldn't be bothering with him.

Probably better than what we have apart from maybe Will Sharp. Would improve the squad.

I think we probably might have said the same thing at this time last year and look how we struggled at the end so I'd say if he's as good as/better than we've got then sign him.

Didn't know wakey had released him, he's quick but he's defence is non existent. Not better than sharp or saltonstall, will command a biggish wage to sit in the stand as back up

A good player but in the wrong position. Unless they are considering playing him at centre, but then his defence would have to improve.

Sharp, Salty, Ecclestone and Pottsy can play indifferent positions but to me it looks like it's going to be hard season and some depth, as well as a proven finisher, is just what we need. Riley has pace, we really looked well short of that in the 8's a times.

Anyone know how Miles is doing as it was an horrendous injury.
Maybe Salty will still be needed for fullback hence the possible opening for Riley.
The emphasis is on he will have to "earn" a contract and if he earns it then we will have another player who has played at a high level for many years and is still only 27.

He'll score a shed load of tries in this league. Needs a lot of support in defence but he would score more than he'd concede (in my opinion)

And you are an expert on Mr Riley ?He may have speed but he has no size or strength ,it's time we signed a BIG winger cmon Richard you know it makes sense,if we are to make a mark in the League this year we must be noticed,spend some of your cash.
