| It is hard to see past a Featherstone win in this one. They are starting to pick up a few injuries but have a deep squad so are well covered on that front and i have just read that Riley dean will not be available for them this week but they will still have a strong team out . From our point of view i do think we have it in us to score points against them even on the backfoot but the problem we had last time out virtually every time they got near our line they scored because of there physical dominance up front there was plenty of opportunity for them to do that. Somehow we need to find a way to front up to them physically which is easier said then done with us having a smaller set of players. I just want to see us go there and put in a better effort then last time and the game not be over by halftime if we can take them to the latter part of the game that would be a big improvement.

| While obviously a Fev win is still the most likely option, they will be missing Aekins, Hankinson, Ford and Dean from the previous game against Fax, at least 3 of those being players that caused us the most problems last time out. They do have a huge squad and some quality to bring in, but every little helps. Against that they've got Moors and Springer coming into the pack so perhaps they won't need any backs.

| Well I’m wasn’t expecting that well done the boys. I followed the sportsman link and watched the game live, on my (52inch, not bragging) TV and free of charge. Well done the you tube sportsman Chanel. Great coverage and commentary. I really enjoyed what they produced. The Panthers win was the cherry on top. We played well and defended well. A few gaffs here and there. Keys off with his kicking again. Overall a top performance. Great trys by Walmsley and Jouffret.

| Big plaudits to the much maligned forward pack, other than a couple bursts from Springer thought we were well on top, and could have won more comfortably had it not been for some errors in the last 5 minutes that kept letting Featherstone back in. Accept I'm totally biased but thought Fax were by far the better team, a fact graciously acknowledged by Long after the game. Thought Calcott had a storming game, especially his drive leading to Inmans try; Brandon had by far his best game of the season and Inman now offers a perfect foil to him. For the first time this season could probably praise contribution of almost every player - really looking forward now to Keighley in front of what should be a good sized crowd.

| Great win for fax , both teams guilty of handling errors and conceding needless penalties. I think Tom inman is gonna be a star for us , such skill and composure for a young lad . This ll give the team some much needed confidence going forward.

| Well done fax that's a cracking result. I hope the fact that we gave them a game last week and you turned them over today, gives everyone in the Championship an injection of positivity about playing Featherstone. They are the best side in the comp, but not the unbeatable machine people had us believe.

| That was a turn up for the books and much more like the performances we saw from the middle of last season. Very pleased that our pack stood up this week as it was very much a case of about time. Ive no doubt that we play the better rugby than Fev but that is hard to do when your pack is not giving you a platform but today was much more like it. I thought there were some really good performances in there from Fairbank, Murray, Gee who probably have all not been up to the standards we are used to but shows how good they can be. Still a lot of silly mistakes in there which lead to a nervous last couple of minutes but I thought we were good value for our win and is it a case of again other team fans writing us off way too early.....

| Great result coming from a much better display from the pack against the bigger Fev front unit who missed the experience of Lock and Kop and suffered in direction / fluidity from the disruption to the halves with Keyes and Jouffret linking better for us with the forwards and backs.
Tit for tat in the penalties / dropped ball department with Briscoe having the highest number of errors albeit whilst under some pressure and Tangata and LJ being the highest in significance whilst being under no pressure leading to a true Fax “ let’s give everyone a heart attack style conclusion” with Louis going from winning it to almost binning it in the space of 5 mins.

| Very good performance but boy do we make it tough for ourselves. Missed conversions, the Moore non try and then the last 5 minutes where we really looked to throw it away. Overall though we were the better team and the forwards really did lay down a platform the backs could play off. Keep this up and it will be a good season. #UTP

| Having watched the game back probably worth mentioning JWH defensive capabilities, I know we all love watching him play rugby with ball in hand but he makes at least 3 try saving tackles in that game and he really has turned in to one of the best fullbacks at this level and is finally fulfilling the potential he has always had.
Again watching it back I think we are a touch unlucky on Fev's first 2 tries, their first one is offside and then the second one comes due to Maizen been down in back play but fair play to Fev they spot this and purposfully attack where he should be defending leading to the try. Also thought McComb who has come in for a bit of stick had a really good game as well, he's hard not to like as a player hes just a bit unlucky that he has 2 of the best wingers in the league in front of him in his main position.
At the final hooter it showed what it meant to Fairbank and how much it had taken out of the players which makes it a big ask to back up against Keighley next week after a physically and emotionally draining game so fingers crossed we can do.

| Someone picked me up on my criticism of SG and I have to eat a whole humble pie after that. Image if we iron out the errors and add in a few areas...
Well done Fax!

| Well not only did we take them to the final hooter we only went and won. A big pat on the back to Simon and the boys for producing that effort. And like others have said we made that a bit harder then it should of been but i would of bit your hand off for that result before kick off. It just goes to show you do not have to play the perfect game to perform well and we looked a lot more like a team this week with and without the ball and hopefully this will give the team the confidence to kick on this year. The only downside to yesterday is i heard Ryan king as asked to be released from is contract and is set to return to Whitehaven if this is true it is disappointing and he will like others before him need replacing.

| Very disappointed if its true about King but not really surprising as Grix obviously doesn't have any confidence in him. The times I saw him play for Whitehaven he looked just the sort of forward we needed, but as with Springer, if Grix doesn't think a player is meeting his standards he's not afraid to get rid even if they are popular with the crowd. While I've never doubted Grix's ability as a coach, this is the second successive season where after just a few games, or 1 in Kings case we decide a new signing isn't up to it. More importantly in the short term it leaves us very thin on numbers in the pack.

| That's was a great win for Fax if for no other reason than it hopefully kick starts our season. As has been said the basis of that performance came on the back of a much improved display by our forwards, but the introduction of Tom Inman was pivotal as well. We must find a way of getting him more minutes on't pitch, he ups the tempo every time he comes on. For me Matty Gee was the MotM with Salty and Walmsley not far behind. Was Keyes fit?I'm not sure but we got the job done and can now build on this going forward. Up The Fax! King's Head shuddersfield. Magic Rock Ringmaster 3.9%Mmm! icon_biggrin.gifRUNK:

| Now confirmed that King is leaving, sounds as though there were things going on in the background that influenced the decision and players performances to date. Looks like he may be going back to Whitehaven- sorry it didn't work out for him here - definitely feel we need to bolster the pack now.

| By way of a contrast to Springer and King.
Both Walmsley and Jouffret joined from Whitehaven and after one game at Batley were left out.
They were told why, knuckled down and look where they are now.
That’s down to players attitude and coaching ability.
Someone who falls in between is Cory Aston that started well, dropped off and dropped out, came back in and contributed to winning us games but when he was told he would be behind JK and LJ at least had the decency to wait to the end of the season before he moved on.
Regardless of if your a forward, halve or back the same is asked of every player here, some will stand up and be counted, some will stand up and walk out and the club will take the former over the latter.
Watch this space for a potential replacement.
