| What I’d like to know is “what would happen if the winding up petition had been passed”.
Is the next step compulsory closure and cease trading immediately or because the club was advised by specialists that they had a strong case and it’s been genuinely disputed even though the judge ruled against the club can he grant a period of time to pay up?

[quote="Listenup94":3a7rhj4v] I can only surmise these barristers are working from home.[/quote:3a7rhj4v]
Someone is making a lot of money out of the whole thing.
It's not dismissed so is still disputed, and as someone else said it's just kicking the can down the road. If we have a poor start to the season causing a reduction in gate numbers, a sponsor go pop. Anything like that then we're just going round in circles. Already had a potential revenue stream in the Challenge Cup disappear.
That said there is no money in the cup anymore, Take a look at the second page of this link - https://orl-heritagetrust.org.uk/app/up ... rinity.pdf
Details all the prize money from the 2001 Challenge Cup paid to clubs.
Mind you, keep reading through the programme and you see how far backwards the game really has gone, back then Oldham had Alliance and Academy managers, And a progamme of about 40 pages with plenty of adverts, albeit possibly swelled with it been a cup game. It's a far cry from what we see now

| Fev's 2023 accounts now filed, and they lost nearly a million quid and had net liabilities of over £460k, and that includes the ground asset of £1.5 million. Interestingly the company has applied to be struck off. Will investigate further.

The amount being paid to these legal advisors makes you think that the amount being disputed won’t be a couple of quid so even more of a concern should the eventual decision go against us.
On pointless games I noticed it was reported that FC Town had less than 200 for their mid week cup game and stated that it was meaningless.
